EzStamp 2006 is a leap forward in stamp categorization. Its impressive catalog of more than 19,000 stamps (10,000 in the trial version) links high-quality images to a database that tracks your stamps' current values and prices alongside their details. Handy fields track your stamps' hard-copy locations and facilitate quick cross-referencing. The program is exceedingly flexible--you get multiple cataloging options, single- or multiple-entry forms, and oodles of customizable preferences.

EzStamp 2006 is great...if you can divine the correct start-up procedure. Though friendly-looking, the program forces users to peruse the cumbersome help manual before starting up, or else become locked in a dead-end form and forced to start anew.

Other features in the comprehensive suite include nine report choices, easy-access stats, and an electronic option for browsing eBay to extend your collection. You can also use the program's image tools to magnify or view the watermark, and there's even an amusing sliding-panel game to test your unscrambling skills. EzStamp works best for serious collectors with a knowledge of databases and philatelic lingo.

"Just what I needed. Easy to use & people to support it"

December 20, 2010  |  By noreenbequette

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

none i could find. just bought it after using the demo for a week.

Cons

great images. super easy to use and install. support is even better. I sent an email with a question & had a response in less than 5 minutes on a Sunday no less!!! reporting is really easy to use ( even for a novice like me ).

Summary

I am convinced now that I have the program, that this is the best. what really made my decision was the almost instantaneous support. I send a few emails just to see how long it would take to respond. Once I knew the support was there I went & looked at others who reviewed the program & they had similar comments. I ended up getting the DVD which has a ton of images & countries on it. Using the program is sooooo easy.
I have managed to inventory my US, Canada & Russia stamps very quickly wiith ezstamp.
i would highly recommend it to any stamp collector.

"Poor Demo Options"

September 27, 2010  |  By Alex_2058

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Looks good

Cons

I was very much disappointed that demo does not come with Canadian stamps. Considering the programmer lives in Canada you would think they would include.

I believe the first few reviews are by programmer or friend of programmer.

Summary

Since my stamp collection is only Canadian, I can not evaluate for my needs.

"OUTSTANDING product. Does not get better than this."

July 10, 2010  |  By wendymilarkovski

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Superb design. Easy to use interface that is very easy to understand. Quality images. Data presented in meaningful way. Reports are uncluttered & a huge asset to this program. Pretty much everything I wanted & then some.

Cons

None that I can find. Have used it for about one month & no problems at all. Developer says they are working on the 64 bit version which I will upgrade to when they announce it. I really have nothing but praise for this product.

Summary

Ok, let's start by saying that I tried 2 other programs before I purchased EzStamp. I hesitated at first because of the cost, but I learned my lesson the hard way. You get what you pay for. If you want a bullet proof system with GREAT support ( and I do mean great ), then don't waste your time & money on others like it did. The one thing that I find truly amazing about this program is not just that the program is fantastic, but the support level is just unbelievable. After I bought it, my system crashed & I lost my key to register the product. I was really mad as I put a lot of data in there. I did do a backup using their built in backup, but had never tested it. So on a Saturday afternoon I sent them an email requesting my registration key. Within 10 minutes ( no word of a lie ), I had an email from their support people with my key & instructions on how to re-register the Ezstamp program. It worked great & the program was re-installed. NOw I had to get my data back in there, ut was not sure how to restore the data ( I later found out it is described in the manual ). So at about 10:30 PM on a Sat evening I sent a desperate email as I wanted to get going again. Withing minutes, I had a response with instructions & an offer for them to call me back & walk me through the restore process if I needed help. I took them up on it,
just to see if they would call, & they called right away. Took about 2 minutes & every piece of my data was back in the program. I used to work in the service industry & let me tell you, they have FANTASTIC customer service.
So, let's get back to the program itself. I have found it a true pleasure to use. Every aspect of the program is described in the manual ( pdf ). I did read another persons review of Ezstamp here& they criticized the manual. Well, let me tell you. The manual is well written, comprehensive ( everything is in there ) and it is really easy to understand. The person who wrote the manual ( if it was one person ) made a few assumptions though. 1) That you know how to cut & paste ( ie ctl+c, ctl+v ) and other basic windows functions. Other than that, the manual has been very helpful. I never read manuals, until this one. It helped me a lot in finding all the other features in Ezstamp.
In summary, I would unequivocably recommend Ezstamp to any collector. Period. By far the best program & easily the BEST customer support hands down.

"Outstanding software. I LOVE this program !"

July 03, 2010  |  By orvalsakruk2

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Easy to use and install. Detailed and complete, beautiful scans of images. Fantastic reports. Built in backups but best of all is their customer service. WOW !

Cons

Wish they had a 64 bit version ready now. They say it will be ready int he fall. I can't wait to get that version. If it's as good as the one they are selling now, it will be the perfect program for stamp collectors.

Summary

I installed Ezstamp and entered about 300 stamps (in less than a half hour) and wanted to let you know how pleased I am. This is an awesome product that REALLY delivers! Thanks again for making a great product that is easy to install and delivers on its promise.
I was surprised at how quicky I received my order!. It is SO great to use a product that actually does what it claims!
The reports in Ezstamp are simply great. They are very easy to produce ( one click most of the time ) and very easy to read and understand.
The images are spectacular. You can tell the quality & care they took in creating this product. It is so simple to use. I am a novice at computers but I have been collecting for over 40 years. Every detail you could want is in this program. The databases are very complete and very accurate. I have yet to find an error or typo. What really tickled me pink was their exceptional customer support. I was wanting to keep track of 2 separate collections ( one for my duplicates and one for my main collection ). So I emailed them & within 15 minutes I had a detailed and easy to understand reply. They offered to call me if I needed further help. The email also indicated that there is a "comprehensive" manual included in the program & that all aspects of the program are described in detail there. I took a look and sure enough, on page 27, there was what I was looking for. But, I hate reading manuals.
Over the course of the past 10 days, I have inventoried most if not all of my USA collection. I now have my collection organized & I can see what it's worth at the click of my mouse. I must say, I cannot get how easy this process was. Whoever designed this software, must certainly be a collector. Pretty much everything has been though of. I will be purchasing other countries ( maybe their DVD ) and some of their other products soon.
I have NO reservations in recommending Ezstamp to any collector. You will not regret it. Simply outstanding software. It does not get any better than this.

I was using another product claiming all sorts of things and delivered on none.

"A mixed bag"

June 23, 2010  |  By phovey1

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Images and pricing info are above average. Report generator has a lot of options. Data entry options include mass entry (or deletion).

Cons

Product documentation. Unable to edit certain data info on entry page. Exporting features are extremely limited. Search function is underdeveloped.

Summary

This software is on the edge of being outstanding, but it may take a while. The developer(s) have a clear understanding of what a typical collector needs; this is demonstrated by the nature of options availabe. Hoewver, it many of the features are woefully under developed - or, maybe I got a bad copy of the program. For example, the report function does not allow for the kind of on-screen data manipulation that you would have in Excel, It would be nice if you could export/import using Excel or Quattro Pro. Lacking that feature, it would be nice to have the ability to cut and paste into a spreadsheet. This software does not permit that. The software is not "smart"; e.g. there is an indexing function in the software that, when used, does not return you to where you left off. The "Previous" and "Next" buttons are inconsistant in "knowing" where were if go off the beaten path. Many times I have gone to view another stamp, but cannot get back to where I was unless I manually enter the stamp number. Another issue deals with the images. They are fairly complete, but many times they use an image that is NOT that of the specific stamp you may have in your collection. This inconsistancy creates a sense of unreliability. For example, Yiu may have a strip of stamps, but they will only show 1 of the stamps in the strip. Unless you read in the "notes" section of "stamp related information", you may think that they have missed it. But they haven't. It is just that you are relying on the image to match what you have. And that should be your expectation because that is what they promote. The solution is obvious. One feature I noticed that they have eliminated is the "save as" function and replace it with a "compressed backup" utility. I don't know why they chose to do this, but I am confident that their reasons have merit. However, why not have both? The "save as" function is an industry standard and useful to many people.

My biggest issue is the software documentation. The documentation provided (in .pdf (hack, hack) is uneven at best, but, frankly, is unworthy of the developers product. Documenting software is an art form if the software has even a modicum of sophistion. The documentation provided (in .pdf) is uneven at best, but, frankly, is unworthy of the developers product. It is a common problem with software documentation that it suffers mightily as a result of the developer(s) being too familiar with their product. Because of this, many things are "intuitive" to them that are not to the user. I think that improved documentation should be the starting point for improving this product. That way, as they upgrade the product, it should be much easier to maintain the documentation at a level that this product deserves.

This is a useful product and I hope that the developer(s) continue its development.

"PERFECT stamp software. Love it !"

June 12, 2010  |  By cereales68

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Installed so easy. Up & running in under 2 minutes. Inventoried 500 stamps in about 10 minutes. Absolutely stunning stamp pictures. Eye candy !! Reports are so easy to use & so simple. Kudos on such a nice program. I will buy other countries shortly.

Cons

Does not run on Win 7 64 bit. I called tech support & they said it will be ready in about 2 months. They actually answered the phone. Very nice people & very, very helpful. They even imported my data from stamp manage at no charge.

Summary

The more I use Ezstamp, the more & more I realize how good this software really is. The details & information is not only accurate, but easy to access. They have a great manual but pretty much everything is easy to understand. if you are looking to inventory your collections & are needing to find out what your collection is worth, then this program will likely work for you. I highly recommend this program over every other program out there. I tried them all & wish I had bought this one first.
Their support is really incredible given the way things are. They email you back almost right away & will return your phone call. This is the best software I have bought in a LONG time. great job.

"Beautiful product! Way better than what I was using"

June 10, 2010  |  By fangshii3

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Fabulous images. Very impressed with its ease of operation. Not only an excellent program, but the personal customer service certainly exceeded my expectations. Ezstamp is so good that now I can't seem to live without it. I will be back for more

Cons

Wish I found this before I bought stamp manager. No support there at all.

Summary

I was able to get up & running in minutes. Install was a snap. I use Win 7 32 bit & this software screams. I was able to load over 1000 of my US stamps in about 10 minutes using their rapid entry feature. I then went back & removed some of the ones I did not have. Reports are right there with no clutter & easy to read.
From ease of use, to the incredible detail they provide you have hit a "HomeRun" for the philatelic community. I have found most of the features to be simple and easy to understand. For features that need a little more explanation, your "Help" documentation is easily accessible and clearly and concisely written. On the couple
of ocassions that I had more technical and detailed problems, your fast email response to my questions quite simply amazed me. One does not see such immediate, competent and courteous customer service these days. I am one very satisfied customer.

"Superb program & great support, could not be happier"

June 03, 2010  |  By higginsj68

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

SImple & quick install. Works flawlessly and so easy to use and understand. I had one quick question. I emailed softpro and in minutes, I had a return phone call from them ! I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone. Am very happy!

Cons

nothing to complain about at all.

Summary

As remarkable as this product is, it is the extreme ease with which I am able to use the huge selection of features included with this program. EZ Stamp provides an astounding array of capabilities with calculations, descriptions, individual stamp personal information, pricing, reports and 'quick features' allowing me to switch between screens and the information I want instantly. And it is all very simple to use! Corrections and modifications are fast and simple. Built in safety features prevent 'deletion errors'. Clearly much planning and forethought has gone into it's design. It is very, very easy and convenient to use.
Lastly, to me, the most valuable feature of EZ Stamp is the free, immediate, reliable technical support. Absolutely fantastic!
I have had a number of questions as I was setting up. All I had to do was pick up the phone and I was walked through every issue in a courteous, efficient knowledgeable fashion. No waiting, no email back and forth, just immediate knowledgeable answers and solutions.
This is the perfect stamp collecting program and will be absolutely invaluable to any stamp collector from beginner to the most advanced or specialized collector imaginable. No matter what you want to record, calculate, compare or present, this program can and will do it, and do it your way. After 50 years in the hobby and trying other stamp software, I give my highest recommendation to this program. Great job

"A nice idea that did not work in practice"

March 26, 2010  |  By Seadognz

 |  Version: EzStamp 2009

Pros

Not very much. Very expensive project.

Cons

Totally unsupported by owners. Did not work on Vista and now does not work on XP either. Numerous emails to the over the last 12 months have gone unanswered from various email addresses.

Summary

Very expensive to begin with. Taiwan, (one of 4 countries I bought along with Albumgen) arrived in 2005 with most pictures of the stamps missing. Was told that they would appear on future versions. Not a lot of good if you have just spent $300 on this one!
I used the product for about a year before glitches started to appear. At about this time I changed to Vista , both Albumgen and Ezstamp stopped working altogether.
Various emails to a character called 'Mario: and tech support addresses on their site did not get a single response.

I persevered on a Laptop with my GB Victorian collection which also packed up some time ago. The end rsult is that I now have 3 uncompleted stamp albums. China, Taiwan and GB. Requests for help remain unanswered.

A total waste of time and money.
