Extension Overload, formerly called Xtension Overload, is a comprehensive database that reviews and gives detailed information on more than 3,500 extensions and control panels that are commonly found in the Extensions and Control Panel folders in Mac OS versions 7.0 through 9.0.4. This version contains descriptions of 2,480 extensions, 908 control panels, and 112 Control Strip modules. This version also contains more links to developers' sites and more information on extensions and control panels. The unregistered version provides only partial database information on 70 percent of the extensions and control panels.
