While you can't block harmful content from youngsters, this software does provide adequate monitoring features. Essential System Scout's practical interface grabs keyloggers, online chats, and screenshots of Web sites and applications used. Operating in stealth mode, the program is easily accessible via a hot-key combo and user-defined password. Logged activity is conveniently saved according to size and can be encrypted for additional secrecy. The program notes the date, time, and file location as well as any URLs from surf activity. However, we would like a content-filtering feature for parents. Essential System Scout serves as a decent enough spy tool, but parents won't be hard-pressed to find another in its class that includes parental-control features.
