In spite of a slick design and a couple of useful features, Error Doctor s parsimonious trial restriction keeps us from fully evaluating or recommending it. The program s main window is both stylish and easy to use, letting you easily choose which areas of your PC s registry to scan for errors. The application searches for such errors as corrupt fonts, invalid keys, bad ActiveX controls, and broken shortcuts. Unfortunately, it doesn t provide any extra information on the items it detects, making the program unsuitable for novices. We like that Error Doctor automatically can back up your registry before changing it, and busy folks will appreciate the inclusion of a scheduling tool. However, the trial version won t remove any erroneous keys it locates, rendering us unable to deliver a verdict on its performance. We d like to be more enthusiastic about this well-designed app, but until the developer provides a less-restrictive trial version, we re forced to hand out a lukewarm review.Publisher's description
From Software Doctor :Problems with the Windows Registry are a common cause of Windows crashes and error messages. By using Error Doctor regularly and repairing your registry your system should not only be more stable but it will also help Windows and your software run faster. By default, Error Doctor scans the registry for all types of errors. This is the simplest way to clean up the registry. Automatic Scan is recommended for 'non-technical' users. After the scan is complete, Error Doctor will show you a full list of errors with details, and let you fix individual invalid entries or all invalid entries of a certain type. Before scanning your registry for errors, Error Doctor gives you the option to create a backup file(s) that can be used to undo the changes.
Version 1.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: Error Doctor 2006 1.1
Pros: None
Cons: Today I received a junk mail from these folks promoting their product. Highly objectionable!! I'd suspect that it's spyware, since it "finds" problems, then makes you pay to fix them. But I may be wrong, they could just be extremely rude.
Please download SpyBot Search-and-Destroy and AdAware instead.

Version: Error Doctor 2006 1.1
Pros: It scans very quickly and does find errors, not difficult to operate you really only have two options with very little else
Cons: Program find errors, but gives you no indication what it's found and intends to remove. No help, two of the links were inoperable, one led you to a sight to leave comments, or ask for help, but no immediate help option. You really don't know what this program is doing it gives so little information. Far to pricey for what your getting, save your money for something better.

Version: Error Doctor 2006 1.1
Pros: There is little doubt ED use scare tactics to get people to buy. There free scan would have you chucking your comp in the bin if it were to be believed. However once installed it does find and repair genuine problems. My comp was a disaster mt C drive and D drive were mixed up and I just couldn't fix it. I had uninstalled ED due to reading it was spyware but installed it again as a last resort. In a matter of minutes it sorted out every problemm I had and saved me a complete reinstallation. Move a file, mess up and it seems to correct it. I have deliberately made errors and run ED and it find them and nothing else. They may be conning people into buying it but it is NOT spyware and I wouldn't be without it.
