This parental control software provides effective Web site and program blocking, but it only works with Internet Explorer. After overcoming its bothersome installation hurdles, this 12MB download requires your name, e-mail address, and the Windows version you're currently using to operate it.
EnoLogic NetFilter Home's clear-cut, password-protected interface gives you the muscle to block or allow Web sites by URL and to restrict P2Ps and chat programs. You can set it to block MP3 and large file downloads or even prevent downloading of files with a particular extension. The application's scheduler for divvying out time limits for Web access is also easy to set up. Sitting silently in your system tray, EnoLogic NetFilter Home displays its own block page informing the user when a site is forbidden. It also creates a detailed log of Internet stats, complete with graphs and charts, and you can alter the block page by using your own customized HTML template. Although the program lists Internet Explorer and Mozilla as supported browsers, its features only seem to work with IE. Despite that, parents will appreciate this 14-day trial's effective blocking capabilities.
