"Terrible game: it cheats!"
Version: Empire XP 3.0
Pros
None I can find... it's complete, 100% crap!
Cons
It's a cheat. Attacking 1 country (last to take on a continent), 15 to 4 or so, the computer nearly always wins. Worse (try yourself): if you save the game before attacking and you lose, just reload the saved game and you will lose again! And again..
Summary
I hate this game. It's complete nonsense the way the computer plays against 1 person. It's giving the PC <colour> players all chances in the world to build and ocupy continents. It doesn't do anything about that. But as soon as a human player ocupies a continent, all PC <colour> players attack the same continent.
The computer also seems to be very lucky in drawing cards. I tried / tested this buy playing single turns over and over again by saving/loading a game and the computer keeps being lucky in a way that seems impossible to me.
Removed it and will never play this. -

"Nothing Special"
Version: Empire XP 5.3
Pros
Well I guess that it works.
Cons
In general, what I don't understand is why everybody wishes to produce a computerised copy of the dumbest version of Risk. It's been done to death. And this isn't one of the best ones. Computer to computer play is poor (appears to attempt to make up for poor IQ) and dice has a strong tendancy to destroy your large army in a important battle. It may be only $10 to buy the full version however I can't see anything that justifies even that.

"DON'T Download - TOO ADDICTING!"
Version: Empire XP 5.2
Pros
A truly great game can be one of the simplest. Great game play, good options, great for those of us who wish we could rule the world, but are too busy or lazy to actually do it.
Cons
Wish you could set up pre-set preferences for starting new games.

"Totally addictive........"
Version: Empire XP 4.4
Pros
Simple, and challenging. I tried the free version and quickly decided to get the pro, it's cheap and well worth the money. I play Empire XP more then anything else I have. I made a couple of my own maps already also, the tutorial is excellent and you don't have to be a genius to do it. An excellent game.
Cons
No antidote. lol ;)
-
"Excellent!"
Version: Empire XP 4.4
Pros
Regularly played this 'Risk' clone for some years now. There's now 12 built-in maps, or you can download other people's maps from the associated website. Multi-player is supported. Email support from the designer, if you want to create your own maps, is prompt and friendly.
Cons
The internet connection for multiplayer mode is fussy. A brief dropped connection will abort the game, as there's no 'reconnect' facility. Otherwise, it's a great program!
