Elmedia Player for Mac is a media playback app that supports many popular media file formats. With a free download for the basic package, there's a $20 upgrade to the Pro version. Elmedia Player for Mac installs cleanly.
Elmedia Player for Mac supports all the popular video formats, including FLV, SWF, RM, AVI, MOV, MP4, and others. With full support for Flash, Elmedia Player for Mac lets you watch videos that you normally can't without a Web browser plug-in. As part of the package, Elmedia Player for Mac adds content management (allowing you to catalog and sort your video files) and supports the creation of playlists. Elmedia Player for Mac can also handle downloads, including those from YouTube, and supports the original structure of video files and metadata. The Elmedia Player for Mac interface is clean and easy to use. There's a folder list on the left with a list of downloading videos at the bottom of the player. Using Elmedia Player for Mac is straightforward.
We used Elmedia Player for Mac on several files and had no trouble playing any of them. We quickly started using Elmedia Player for Mac as our default video player and ended up upgrading to the Pro version because of its trouble-free nature. We can't think of a better recommendation than that.

It looks like a legitimate program, even though it isn't.

This scam of a program is actually not free, it is advertised as a free download, but then you are conned into paying for an upgrade to supposedly get anyhting to work.
Once you pay for the upgrade, it asks for your computer password - be warned!
The product actually does not work, it actually crashed my computer, had to have my computer rebuilt. Stay away from this disastrous software application, there are other free options which are much better, and they actually work.Summary
I can only describe this as a scam, as they will not refund your purchase price, they keep coming up with excuses as to why they won't refund your purchase price, as they are fully aware that this product does not work as advertised. BEWARE and avoid any product this company comes up with, their products are too intrusive, once it has your computer password, it's difficult to uninstall, this is all intentional by Elmedia! Stay away from this company.

I had some issues with the previous version, but the latest build works fine.
Summary
The only app which allows downloading internal files from SWF animations. Works fine as streaming video downloader. The only feature I miss is the video conversion option.

Just about any other player is better than this crapware. AND the developer coerces SPAMMED reviews of the app, as witnessed here at at [a competitor site not to be named]. Shameful. Unworthy of the Mac platform. Been that way for years. Skip it. (IMHO of course).
