EasyFind is an alternative to or supplement of Sherlock and finds files, folders or contents in any file without the need for indexing -- and therefore immediately. This is especially useful if you are tired of slow or impossible indexing, outdated or corrupted indices or if you are just looking for missing features like case sensitive or insensitive search, boolean operators, wildcards or searching for phrases. In addition, EasyFind uses multithreading and is therefore very responsive even with multiple search processes running, provides contextual menus and Mac OS X services and displays the location of each item in a separate column for a better overview. Finally EasyFind uses little memory, supports drag-and-drop and the clipboard and optionally finds invisible items or items within packages.

"Really is E-A-S-Y F-I-N-D"

Pros
Simple layout and a directory table showing the "find" results. The handy feature is the answer stays put on the screen. You can click through the results without having the result disappear. Much better than Spotlight.
Cons
I really cannot think of a bad feature. Keep it simple.

A lot of cons, unless I am doing something wrong. But I thought this software was supposed to do the thinking/scouring for the user...not the reverse!
Summary
I have been searching for missing entries that were once located in my iCal + have since disappeared. I also have a back up hard drive, yet have had no success locating the lost or hidden info. I selected all means for "EasyFind" to populate my lost data + nothing came up. So, I entered a search with precise names...that ARE currently visible in many areas of my computer, such as, my calendar + my phone book + in various documents....all to no avail. I really don't understand what the hype is all about!!

Easy to use and relatively speedy. It will never approach Spotlight's speed because EF doesn't index anything.
Cons
A similar utility, Find Any File, has better display views of found items.

although it is a bit slow, if thorough.Summary
The only better search tool is FileBuddy9.0.2 - that will find anything, including invisible files, system files, etc. - but that is not a cheap alternative, and is only MOSTLY compatible with Snow Lwopard.
