This free privacy programs lets you hide and lock your most sensitive files and folders, but we found its user interface counterintuitive and lacking password protection.
Easy File Locker has a very plain user interface. The black-on-white command buttons aren't the least bit eye-appealing. But more importantly, the large blank window gives the impression that you can drag and drop files, but that proved not to be the case when we tried it. When we selected the add file button, a window appeared with boxes already checked to allow access and visibility to files, as well as the capability to write and delete them. We assumed that unchecking the boxes would turn off their respective functions, but doing so did just the opposite. Once we got used to the interface, the program worked as promised, but without any password protection, our changes were vulnerable to anyone with access to our PC.
Despite being freeware, this tool doesn't offer much in terms of privacy. If you're looking for a secure way to hide or lock your files, we recommend that you keep looking. It left no traces on our PC when we uninstalled it.

Cons
How do you uninstall a program that can't be uninstalled. You download their software and pay for it. This is illware. Which I haven't done. Hopefull download.com will rectify this arrogant attempt to bamboozle the public.
Summary
It is really rediculous to have this available on your website. Or you need to alert the consumer about the need to purchase other software.

Gives invalid password error when creating a password for the first time. Absolutely stupid. No pros at all!

After installing, it asks you to create password. You enter a password and it says 'INVALID PASSWORD!" I mean how effing stupid is that?? Not it would not even uninstall, since it gives the same error while uninstalling. "Invalid password" When it didnt even let me create on in the first place. EPIC FAIL. AVOID!

Soon i installed it ask me for pass.witch i didnt set up at all.And worse i cant uninstall it anymore without password. I send question to Xoslab support, still no answer from them. Run away from this program

This is not an encryption program but a "file locker" as clearly described. A very good tool to protect files you don't want to accidentally overwrite or delete. You can on the fly add a file or even a complete folder to be protected and there you go. In addition, you can hide any file in the list. If you are the only user of your computer you don't even need a password since the ultimate goal is to protect your files against your own negligence. I noticed that it is the same programmer who gave us the excellent "Shadow Defender". Good work and give us again such nice tools.

None but if you're looking for encryption software this is not it.

This tools is amazing. I am using in windows7 and it works superb.

Product features are as simple as it is. any one can easily understand and use it efficiently.I have been searching in web for similar products and used so many of them, but i recommend this is the best product i came across with freeware.

For the small size, it does what it says. It protects an item even in safe mode and without having to put the strain of adding another running process, or having to password-protect the item. You can password-protect the gui to prevent access.
Cons
The interface is rather confusing at first and little help is offered. No technical support is provided and ambiguous over its development. May be an abandonware.
Summary
It is a very good product in contrast to other softwares. I don't know what happened to the CNET staff who tested this product, but I can assure all of you it worked perfectly fine. From the checkboxes to the protection, it's almost perfect. The only downside I see is that protection is only in the computer it is installed in. If, say, in a USB, file protection disappears in a system without Easy File Locker being configured to protect it. Still unsure of how it does what it does, and still not seeing any way to stop protection other than actual modification of the configurations of EFL.
This is a great product to try. It's free, doesn't make any connections online, no process running when gui's not in use, protection even in safe mode and did I say it's free? What have you got to lose? (I recommend you test it first and get to understand it before protecting critical files. DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS OR MODIFICATION OF CRITICAL SYSTEM FILES.)
