Publisher's description
From Innovative Solutions :DriverMax is a powerful free utility which helps you download, back up and restore the drivers installed on your Windows Vista or Windows XP computer and check if newer versions are available. Download all drivers from one place in just a few steps. Or back them up so you will have all of them in a single place and will be able to reinstall them in a few minutes. This tool can save you a lot of time when reinstalling Windows, especially on older computers for which the original CDs containing the drivers have been lost.
You no longer have to track down old driver installation CDs, insert one installation CD after another or spend hours searching for drivers on the Internet. DriverMax is also able to display a detailed report about all drivers (versions, release dates) installed on your system. Identify unknown devices in your computer and get Windows Vista rating information before you purchase new hardware.
Version 4.7 improves the driver database and offers faster downloads.

"PLEASE PLEASE PEOPLE THIS IS JUNK"
Pros: NOT A ONE.......Don't always believe what you read, this is simply the worst excuse for software I've ever seen
Cons: Your pc doesn't need anymore crap installed on it, all your doing is giving them permission to bombard you with junk ads and spam galore, do yourself a favor & skip this one

Version: DriverMax 4.7
"Waste of time, links you to scammeras and advertizers"
Pros: Appears to find drivers and updates
Cons: When you try to update, they link you to scammer websites.
Summary: I don't trust any software maker that has connections or links to scam websites.
Then you can't back out of their webpage. -
Version: DriverMax 4.7
"Easy to use. Best driver program - including my PCs mfg"
Pros: I've a Dell PC. I've used Dell's driver program & another that's not free. The right path to take isn't as clear as what is presented by DM. I'll not be surprised if I get a bad driver with DM. But, I'm sure my success rate will be much, much higher.
Cons: Can only select one driver at a time. This is really more of a wish list being reported as a con. The program is not as intuitive as I think it could be - you must scan the help. Oh well...
Summary: Working with Dell's driver update service is much more difficult as far as determining if a given driver is for the hardware actually on your system. DriverMax, on the other hand, identifies the hardware and related drivers on your system and then ... read more >>

Version: DriverMax 4.7
Pros: Obviously, i love the fact it's free and it works!! Once you find your feet it's pretty straight forward to use.
Cons: As J.Wayne mentioned, do be careful, you might find some of the drivers are not compatible with your computer.
Summary: DriverMax has come a long way since last year. I did have it installed in the past but it failed to download many of the drivers, so i dumped it. Now, with this latest version, i thought "what the heck" I'll give it a try. Well, to be honest i wasn'... read more >>
