Version: Driver Detective 6.0.6.5
"Should come wrapped in toilet paper -- POS"
Cons: I paid $29 for this program to advise me on the status of my drivers. It said I had several that were bad and offered replacements.
Only problem was .. many of their version numbers were lower than my version number but their date was more recent -- or their version number was higher but the date was older than date on mine.
This confused me so I emailed tech support and said I didn't know if I should replace them or not. Tech support said if my computer was running ok ... don't replace the drivers. No explanation as to the discrepancies in dates and version numbers.
So I paid $29 for a program to give me advice which Tech Support tells me to ignore.
Great.
There was 1 ( one ) driver that had logical version numbers and dates and I checked with the manufacturer and there was indeed a new driver so I updated that one -- and it only cost me $29 to find out about the new driver.
Buyer beware.

Version: Driver Detective 6.0.6.5
Pros: Nice GUI to search for and identify drivers. Some of the replacement drivers it found were helpful updates.
Cons: Doesn't seem to understand my make & model, reco'd drivers for wrong mobo (not on pull-downs), had to restore my system to get back after loading bad drivers. The Co. hasn't answered two msgs, left a week a part, over 10 days ago.
Summary: After replacements identified, be sure they are for your system and mobo. Be sure to take checkpoints/backups of registry/system in case you have to go back. Do just 1 driver at a time. If you feel you are a total novice, hire a geek instead.
