"OK, but there are free alternatives"
Version: Dolce Ear Training 1.3

For interval work, try some free alternatives, such as www.good-ear.com, or Big Ears (http://www.ossmann.com/bigears/) which are more comprehensive, and free. The rhythmic dictation option with "Dolce" has problems. The most serious of this is that it will play a three-beat rhythm, then ask you what the time signature is, plus the rhythm. I typed in 3/4, but it said I was wrong, because it was actually three beats of rhythm plus one beat of rest! ??????? Without a click-track, how was I supposed to hear that rest? It also does not properly beam eighth notes, and this is an important omission. I think Dolce is obviously a low-level program, but then they shouldn't be charging money for it. Maybe $5. I notice it offers a site license, but I think this program (certainly the rhythmic component) will just frustrate your students.
