Publisher's Description
From DIY Datarecovery:
DiskPatch is a professional DOS based data recovery utility that recovers data by repairing corrupt disk structures, like the partition tables, 'in-place'. DiskPatch is designed to tackle the most common issues that prevent you from accessing your data; a corrupt MBR (Master Boot Record), corrupt partition tables, accidentally deleted partitions, corrupt boot sectors, and 'bad' sectors. Corruption of the MBR, partition tables and boot sectors account for the majority of the problems that lead to 'mass data loss'; situations where an entire drive or partition can't be accessed. You can fix these problems yourself using DiskPatch. DiskPatch automatically repairs damaged, corrupt or missing partition tables and boot sectors. To make recovery from future disasters even easier, DiskPatch allows you to back up important disk structures like the MBR, partition tables and boot sectors.

"The best program to recover your lost hard drive"
Version: DiskPatch 3.5.200
Pros
This is probably one of the only programs which would help recover Hard drives that have been damaged and locked up by Norton Go-back
Cons
Nothing at all
Summary
I purchased the older version of Pro Version but my access to their support is being denied. I don't know why and I don't know how to get in touch with them. Despite that, it is a fantastic program, even to duplicate or format your Hard drive.

"Works perfectly"
Version: DiskPatch 3.5.100
Pros
Although I wasn't sure that I'd correctly identified my FAT problem, I had. I ran DiskPatch following online directions, and within minutes I had I recovered 260GB of data.
Cons
At bit expensive. With very few computers now having a floppy drive, DiskPatch's online instructions should not warn against using a CD, as that's the only way most computers can now use it. DiskPatch should add USB drives to bootable media.

"Easy to create boot media - works as advertised - saved my bacon :o)"
Version: DiskPatch 3.2.100
Pros
I haven't had a chance to use every facet, of the program, but I can tell you that it's EXTEMELY easy to create the boot media; create from a PC that is functional (CD or diskette). As long as your drive's structure is "realatively intact", this program will restore your drive, "as it was", before the mistake. In my case, a RAID controller firmware blew away the MBR, and the partition structure, of my primary drive. I immediately stopped tampering with the drive, and downloaded this program. Disk patch fixed the MBR, and recovered the partition information, from the drive. I'm back in business :o).
Cons
Can't complain about anything yet.

"A smokin' hot utility !"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
This software works as advertised, and offers more than expected.
It's saves a drive full of irreplaceable data when all hope was lost..
Cons
The biggest problem with this software is that
I didn't find out about it sooner.

"Life-saver!"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
Partition magic had messed up my partition table, and I couldn't boot my computer. This program made it extremely easy to create a bootable CD with DiskPatch on it. In a matter of minutes DP had recognized my old partition structure and it automatically fixed both the partition table and the MBR. Great!
It doesn't mess with your disk unless you are absolutely sure you want to, and has an extensive undo-function.
Cons
Not much to complain about, but it may look a bit esoteric to the novice. Still, the user gets ample warning what to avoid doing, and reading the manual is also very helpful.

"good enough"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
well, easy to use and useful too.
-
"Quick, DOS and painless"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
Made quick work of re-recognizing my 150gb HD and it's 3 partitions. Restores all in no time flat. Makes its own boot disc - floppy or CD which is vital if your machine, like mine, was DOA.
Cons
A tad bit pricey, but the alternative was data death. It took me two times to get it right, because I'm not an instruction reader, but still only took about 30 mins. It's pretty automated, but the sequence is not logical and you could definately screw something up if you don't know what you're doing.

"What a MAGIC set of tools.... I HIGHLY recommend both iRecover and DiskPatch!"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
What a MAGIC set of tools.... I HIGHLY recommend both iRecover and DiskPatch!
I successfully recovered all data from a 147GB data partition with iRecover. Then with DiskPatch I (i) rectified the drive geometry, (ii) fully recovered the whole 147GB data partition, (iii) fully recovered the XP Pro partition and (iv) now have the 320GB SATA II disk booting again!
Great set of must have tools.
Thanks DIY DataRecovery team.

Cons
This not for the uninitiated or feint of heart...
Documentation can be improved on with common flow chart based processing.
The forum support is a very good - as a substitute for documentation. Time zone differences does delay responses...

"It worked, when other products did not !"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
This program helped me restore a lost partition! I've had to do this several years ago with a professional service, and that cost close to $200, and took over a week. DiskPatch cost me $53, and I was done in 3+ hours.
I really wanted to give this product a "5" rating, because it worked flawlessly, once I figured out the sequence of commands. And it was a tremendous relief, when everything started working again.
The programs that could not fix this problem: Acronis Disk Director, PowerQuest PartitionMagic, Paragon Partition Manager, and other $30-$50 software from Cnet downloads.
Cons
The web-based documentation was a little unclear at certain operations. (I suspect the installed doc's are better, but they were on my lost parition.) Due to my inexperience, it took me six tries, and about three hours of trying and reading.
My advice is to stick with it. I could see my lost partition in the scan summary, but it took many tries to figure out what to do with the erroneous entries (they needed to be deleted from the list), and what to do with the ones I wanted to keep (all needed to be check-selected.)

"Pure Trash!"
Version: DiskPatch 3.1.100
Pros
NONE!
Cons
Horrible, Rude Customer Service. Riddled with bugs and freezes up. Destroys more than it "fixes". Never, ever buy this trash. It is a ripoff! You are better off with Acronis True Image or some other software. Anything but this garbage. Save your money.
