"Great! works when others didn't"

Pros
Tried several other software programs which were unable to detect the data on a friend's drive (I believe his xbox somehow repartitioned his external drive).
The demo of this program will show you whether the files can be recovered. Simply purchase it to unlock recovery capabilities!Cons
Not really a con, but price. Worth every penny in my opinion, however.

Pros
Way better than any other recovery software I've used. Price minimal considering my data is completely intact.
Cons
Takes a while, but worth it. You can't purchase with a credit card if you have a free email account, which is a pain.
Summary
I tried several other data recovery tools - Linux and Windows. After being able to retrieve only 40% of the 500gb of data I was stumped. I thought I'd give it one more shot using the trial version of Diskgetor to see if it would find the lost data. Meantime, the HDD stopped spinning up. So, I carefully dropped the drive on the plastic mat on the floor - flat and upside-down, from about two feet. I don't recommend this technique for the weak-of-heart, but I had nothing to lose - the drive was already toast. Amazingly, when I plugged it back into the dock it cranked up and started spinning; 2.5 hours later it had identified all the data on the drive. I held my breath and paid the $69 fee to unlock the software. 11 hours later every music and video file had been recovered. $69 is a small price to pay for saving your whole music and video collection from the past 20 years.

Recover Formatted Drive option recovered the files but i could not open any of the recovered files...had to re-scan using Full Scan & Summary for actual recovery.
Summary
I was one of those who laughed at those who 'accidentally' formatted their devices..until i accidentally formatted my 1.5TB WD external HDD..it had used up all available disk space & i had my life's photo projects & videos stored in it...the un-registered version displayed all file names along with the folder structures...thats when i decided to buy this software...after buying, i could recover all 100% data...i must mention that before using diskgetor, i had the scanned the disk using around 6 other softwares but they did not recover the folder structures & original file names... so i ran the scan using disgetor & that must've been like 8th-9th scan on the disk which recovered all the data for me...simply amazing tool.

"It works, but doesn't give you full instructions."

Pros
It restored an accidentally formatted hard drive (never have more than one unlabeled drive on your PC), saving years of work stored there.
Cons
It took hours to do the job, and it did not restore exe files.
Summary
It works. The recovered files were stored on a different drive, and eventually appeared in a folder called "Root". After that, they can be copied back to the place where they were deleted. You must be prepared to spend a long tie to get your 'stuff' back, but it will. I don't know why the EXE files were not restored. You may only have one chance to restore a 'frapped' drive, so read all the instructions (and there are not many of them) before you touch the drive that is having problems. It costs a little too much, and you can't restore the files it finds unless you pay the $69 registration fee. I did, and I now have 95% of all I lost returned to me.
