We are what we eat, and Digital Cookbook aims to help us monitor this serious matter, though it could do so a bit more intuitively. Though the interface is clear and logical in its way, the developers could use simpler language at times. Certain tasks, such as adding photos to cooking tips, are far from straightforward. Also, the typical cook might faint upon seeing one of the obtuse error messages in this program. In addition to storing recipes, Digital Cookbook helps you plan entire menus for large families or even a 20-person dinner party. Just choose dishes for your menu and the utility will calculate the quantity of ingredients and an estimated price. Then just print the shopping list. The program also can find recipes based on nutritional characteristics. If only Digital Cookbook counted calories and nutrients for entire menus rather than only for separate recipes. Also, several bugs are still floating around in this release, but for those equally comfortable at the keyboard and in the kitchen, Digital Cookbook might prove quite the useful sous-chef.Publisher's description

"Great search engine and ingredients calculations."
Pros: Search engine is excellent.
Printing templates can be customized.
Price calculation.
Shopping lists of ingredients needed for menus and even date intervals are just what I needed for my business
Cons: Stock management, for keeping track of ingredients on stock is lacking and would be preferable for a Pro version.

Version: Digital Cookbook 3.16
Pros: It does have a nutrient value, I wanted to just drag recipes in it and get the nutrient value and couldn't find how to do that
Cons: I downloaded Weight by Date which has an awesome display but when you put a recipe in you have to also put in the nutrient values as some of my old recipes does not have
