Dealio Toolbar is a dandy price-comparison tool for online shoppers, but like most search engine-based tools, it's most effective when your search phrase is as specific as possible.

Dealio Toolbar installs quickly as an additional Web browser toolbar, and it is nicely designed and easy to comprehend. The search field is prominently located, and you have your pick of searching for products via Dealio.com, Google, or eBay. The toolbar returned search results quickly, listing items and a range of available prices. Results appeared rapidly whether we used a general search phrase like "digital camera" or a specific brand and model number, although specificity produced the best results.

After the program returns results, clicking the Find Best Deal button opens a second frame that lists retailers--typically national chains but also online shopping sites--as well as their current item price and links to the item on their sites.

Easy-to-use options allow you to watch an auction. If you find a particularly great bargain, a Post An Item button on the toolbar lets you add it to an interactive list, and other Dealio users also will be alerted to that deal. The Dealio toolbar is easy enough to handle, and robust enough to recommend it for any user who shops online.

  "Malware. This crap hijacks your computer! Stay clear of this crap!"

  Cons: This piece of crap came bundled with some other software, and I installed it by mistake. Well.. No harm done, I thought, but it sure did do harm. Even after the toolbar is uninstalled it still Hijacks my browsers searchpage (whenever I mistype an adress or follow a dead link it leads me to dealio), and it also hijacks my browsers search-bar. I resets it to google, but everytime I relog the dealio malware resets my searchbar to yahoo.

  I hate Dealio and I hope everyone ever involved in making that **** rot up in hell... And now I also hate Yahoo for getting Dealio to force their search engine into my browser.

  Stay clear of this piece of ****. It is malware!!

  "THIS IS MALWARE: SHOULD GET 0 STARS"

  Pros: NONE AT ALL

  Cons: -It installs malware on your computer
  -A pointless program
  -Not a simple uninstall...which suggests MALWARE

  "I hate toobars"

  Pros: It seems to have uninstalled without damaging the system.

  Cons: It is a toolbar. It gathers information on your habits to report to companies. It hijacks your browser's search settings without asking you. Need I go on?
