Data LifeSaver Data Recovery provides file system recovery after partitioning and formatting or virus attacks. Typically these are hard disks, memory cards, ZIP drives, memory cards, floppy disks, and other media that are formatted with Windows (NTFS, FAT 12/16/32) file systems. You only have to pick the partition, volume or logical drive to be scanned. Upon completion you save the relevant data or files and the recovery process is finished. You need very little knowledge on the problem or your computer system. The software works with very sophisticated algorithms for data recovery and is non destructive for your files and folders.

Trial version allows previews of pictures and mp3's, which definately proved that it can find and recover important data from a corrupt hard drive.
Cons
$89 to use it for 14 days means if you have a huge drive to recover data from, you will need lots of time to monitor progress and to ensure that no mishaps such as system lock-ups will limit your recovery. $149 to use it without time limits.
Summary
This was my first exprience with trying to recover data from a corrupted hard drive. The Geek Squad showed that files were on the drive, but I would have to go to their nest step (send away) to see if the data could be viewed and recovered. I decide to use trials of various recovery programs to see if it would be worth it; software such as this is more ecomomical than using The Geek Squad, now that I know such programs can do the job.

Brought back all my data. I had formatted my hard drive after a system crash. I tried five different data recovery software tools. Data LifeSaver was the only tool that found all my files.

Easy to use. Effectively recovered a bad drive.

$89.00 was a bit much for a 14 day all access pass, but I had six other drives to recover so I guess it was worth it.
Summary
I downloaded 5 other programs to fix my drive that suddenly said it was a RAW file system and had no data (lots of bad sectors). The other programs were cumbersome or locked up after 10 hours (USB 1) of recovery time. Data LifeSaver was the only program I used that worked. I am happy with it and will use it again if the data needed is worth the money.

Pros
I had Jpeg files on a camera microdrive that resided beyond a corrupted point on the drive and I could not access them. I tried several other so called data recovery softwares and they could not even find these files. This software found these files and moved them to a safe harddrive.
