This program does an adequate job of finding files on your computer, but it offers little more to make you switch from standard Windows search functions. There is no installation for File Finder beyond downloading and clicking the file. The software itself is as basic as it can be in terms of both interface and features. Simply select a disk and click it to make the program automatically search for files. The only configuration available is searching between files and folders; there are no extra features, such as searching for files with specific extensions or sizes. All the program does is let you enter the name of the file and click Search. To its credit, File Finder has the ability to sit on top of all applications you're working with, making quick searches convenient. However, the many drawbacks and lack of extra search features make the program difficult to recommend over the standard Windows search options. If you're looking for a search utility that's always on top, try this program, but most users would be better off using the standard Windows search.

Developer's Description

Find files on your computer instantly.
File Finder provides a highly efficient interface for quickly locating files. It is especially useful when you don't know the exact name of the file you want or if you have a large collection of unorganized files, such as music, movies, images, or source code. A search is performed on each keystroke, so you can perform searches as fast as you can type.
