This comparison tool lets you view the differences among files and directories. The program's strongest point is its highly customizable interface. You can add or remove buttons and change keyboard shortcuts. FCU color-codes the differences among files, but it doesn't scroll files synchronously. The comparison options are not numerous. The program can ignore spaces, cases, and end-of-line symbols. It does have extensive switches for command-line operations. The modest capabilities of FCU make it a tool for a power user's toolbox.

Pros
generates a merge output file from the two specified input files.
Cons
Doesn't start synchronized walking through the files until next-difference button is clicked. <p>Should show what on the line is different and allow character positions to be counted and other character positions to not be counted. For instance, if your editor adds //DATE CHANGED to the end of the line, the DATA CHANGED will always be different. It would be nice if the compare could ignore all data after 70th column. Yes, this is pretty wierd, but it would be nice.
