Version: DIY DataRecovery iRecover 3.1
Pros: My new employer had a dead LaCie bigdisk with a lot of data on it. This device is a raid 0 array and the problem was that the controller had failled. Fortunately the two disk were in perfect condition.
In nearly one year a lot of people tried to recover the data. The informatic service in particular failled at it, and my boss was beginning to resign on that issue. Wanting to make a good impression I decided to give it a try. I try some software tools without any good results. These tools didn't find the correct parameter for this raid array. The fact is that the files on these disk are not common and I think that most of the recovery tools base their analyse on known format.
And then I find that iRecover tool. The process was very long. But like we say in french "petit train va loin". The software made it and found the good setting to get these data back. With the trial version I saw the root directory and all the sub folder. I rapidly ordered the full version and begen to recovery. My boss didn't beleive it at first.
That's a really good software I most say. I'm sure that it offers A lot of other features and I don't know if it is all that good. But to recover data from a hardware raid 0 that has failled it work's well!
To steps are easy and intuitive. The software mostly make everything by itself.
Thanks!
