I've tried many parental time/website controls, and have found this program to be deceptively powerful - capable of thwarting most any attempt to bypass it.
Although Crawler is probably more of a website control program, its pc usage/system limits and ability to resist bypassing the software makes it a standout.
When setting system options, select the option to disable control panel. This disables the ability to alter the system clock, not control panel itself (that's a good thing).Cons
1) Time periods in the pc usage timetable can't be specified any finer than in 1 hour increments. For example, you can block pc usage from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, but not 9:30 AM to 2:15 PM.
2) The website controls don't provide the ability to block all websites except a whitelist of user-specified sites.
3) Web and mail restrictions requires setting a proxy.
See below to get around #2 & #3.Summary
I have found that the best solution for pc time and website control is to combine Crawler with WinLock Pro.
WLP can block all sites except sites that you specifically allow. It can block sites based on the URL address, or a keyword in the URL, webpage content, or window title. WLP can also protect files and folders from tampering, and can block any program or window containing any keywords in the window title - This lets you disable any program regardless of its file name or folder location.
Again, this is for WinLock Pro. WLP is a paid program, and using it with Crawler is IMO the best solution that does everything I need with respect to time and website control. -

Versatile program with a great tool. If I had children, I wouldn't concern about terrible websites when they surf the internet. This program is not only a very useful program with a lot of function such as regulating the time for surfing the internet, guarding my computer from harmful software, blocking websites with dangerous content and etc. By this program, I can arrange my time surfing the internet,cut off the problem of terrible software, spyware, viruses, spam infection. it also make me feel less worry.
It is also easy to use because of Crawler Toolbar which is linked on popular search engines.Another interesting function for home or office user, The program is also designed for monitoring and controling user activities but not just monitoring this program sent me the information which I need to know about my computer. I like this function alot because I can control other user to use my computer in good way.

Summary
Unless I have somehow installed incorrectly, my kids seem to be able to gain access by changing the PC time when the restriction screen is on and then hitting control, alt, del and ending crawler. Then they carry on as always. I would like to have taken this up directly with crawler to firstly avoid giving this info online and secondly bearing in mind there might just be an installation error, but I couldn't find a contact on the page. If this is a genuine problem I am sure it will be sorted soon with this kind of feedback.

"Freezes PC if you have Zone Alarm"

Zone Alarm comes with a Crawler toolbar. But this product has a conflict with ZA. PC freezes, and you have a hard time uninstalling - especially if your mouse freezes first like mine did! It lets you install (suggests you use a different firewall)

If you have a conflict with a major product like Zone Alarm - courtesy demands that you tell me BEFORE I install, prerferably before I even download.

It resets the time limits every time my child logs off and logs back on, and I can't seem to find a way to stop that.
Summary
After seeing all the positive reviews, I thought this might work as well as the software my ISP used to provide. Sadly, that software is no longer available, and this one doesn't seem to work like I had hoped. I'd be much more unhappy if I'd had to pay some sort of fee, but since it's free I can't complain too much. I don't recommend this software if you have a child who likes to log in and out several times a day. However, if they like to use all their time at once, this is a great program.
