"Infectious"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
None absolutely terrible
Cons
everything. rotten program.
Summary
Cnet, why auto download junk on peoples computer?!? thats irresponsible. If you want to hand out free products, don't download junk on our computers. That sucks... That wasn't the first time a program was downloaded without my knowledge either...

"Ad-ware hijacker"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
none. Unless you like adds an redirects to your searches... then it would be awesome.
Cons
Everything you hate about internet scumbags rolled up into a piece of software.
Summary
It's ad-ware. Nuff said.
-
"Piece of crap."
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
None. Who wants something constantly popping up ads on your computer?
Cons
Mysteriously showed up on computer. It is completely advertising.
Now I cannot uninstall it, the uninstaller is broken and it is the only extension Chrome does not give me an delete option for. Not only that but none of the options in CNET's "uninstall instructions" do not work at all.Summary
This is a piece of crap malware that gets on your computer and takes advanced techniques to remove, and is completely advertising. I do not want a "companion" always telling me coupons for random things. I can't think of someone who would want a program that brings you ads all the time, infests your computer, and does not let you remove it.

"I love it!"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
I get so many neat deals.
Cons
None that I can see.
Summary
I love this program because it reminds me of such great deals. It knows exactly what I am looking for and takes me to the advertisers so I can spend my money on their great merchandise. CNET has a winner here.
-
"What the heck! It Malware and a pain to remove!"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
NONE NONE NONE
Cons
Its Malware and adds in crap all over your webpages.
Summary
I have used Cnet to download stuff for years, what the heck are you doing adding in Malware to your downloads? I did not authorize this installation and am finding it a pain to remove! Cnet what are you thinking?!
-
"WILL NEVER USE CNET AGAIN!!!"

Pros
THERE ARE NO PROS! THIS SOFTWARE IS MALWARE UNAUTHORIZED ON MY COMPUTER YET YOU STILL INSTALLED IT
Cons
IT TRACKS YOUR USE AND CHANGES ALL THE ADS
IT ALSO ANNOYINGLY HYPERLINKS TEXT ON YOUR WEBSITE
THERE ALSO APPEARS TO BE SOME SORT OF KEY ALTERING THING TO THISSummary
NEVER EVER WILL I TRUST THIS WEBSITE AGAIN!

"crapware - will never use cnet again"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
awful piece of crap
Cons
was not asked, did not approve
Summary
I've used cnet for years, but NEVER, EVER again.
You don't sneak in this crapware and get forgiven.
We're done. -
"Malware installed without consent."
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
None .....
Cons
It is malware bundled in the installer.
Summary
I am always very careful to uncheck unwanted software bundled in installers and downloaders that may opt themselves in by default. I used CNET's downloader foolishly thinking it was safe. Even being careful to opt out of any unwanted downloads I still wound up with Coupon Companion. This software is vile. I have removed it since but I am very upset with CNET and I now know that they are no longer trustworthy and I will never download from them again.
-
"Can't believe CNET would allow this!"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
There are no PROS - it's Malware!
Cons
Can't believe CNET would allow this obtrusive and annoying plug in to be associated with ANY download, since they preach a lot on keeping your PC clean. I know CNET is free but that's no excuse to start allowing this kind of crap on my PC. Shame on you, CNET. I just lost a whole ton of respect for you guys!
Summary
Stay away from CNET if they are going to start promoting crap like Coupon Companion.

"UNSOLICITED INTRUSION AND WASTE OF TIME TO REMOVE"
Version: Coupon Companion 1.18.149.149
Pros
I have used and trusted download.com/cnet.com for so long I can't recall when BUT SHUT THIS AUTO LOADING thing down or I will find an alternative.
Cons
My Norton 360 let this install, and I wasted 30 minutes trying to figure out what it was, uninstalling it, blocking it from my firewall exceptions, and calming back down.
Summary
IF CNET DOESN'T SHUT THIS UNSOLICITED PROGRAM INTRUSION DOWN, FIND AN ALTERNATIVE.
