Although this encryption utility proved reliable in our tests, its rather small feature set keeps it from really thrilling us. For the most part, Cool File Encryption's interface is a snap to operate. The one exception comes when you try to decrypt a protected file. In that case, the program forces you to browse your PC and add the document you want to decrypt; we would prefer the app simply prompt you for the password when you click the encrypted file. Though the program demonstrated speedy performance when locking down a 1GB file, we wish it supported more encryption algorithms beyond AES. It's also important to note Cool File Encryption can't create self-decrypting executables, so if you're looking to easily share protected files with colleagues, you'll probably want another program. Still, users seeking a simple encryption tool without bells and whistles might find this program a suitable choice.Publisher's description
