    Version: Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1

    "Easy and flexible"

by Jim Harmon on July 26, 2008

Pros: Within minutes of downloading this program I was creating contact sheets that were as good as any I've ever seen, and much better than some.

Cons: If I could make one change to this program, I'd add a "Browse" option to the File window. There are advantages to the drag and drop method and this should remain an option, but it just seems "awkward" to have to open a separate window just to select files.

Even with this quirk, I would say this program still earns 5 stars.

    Version: Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1

"A very simple program that saved my life!"

    by gbl13 on December 9, 2007

Pros: OK well it might not have saved my life, but when Windows photo wizard stopped printing due to some "not enough space" error I thought all hope was lost. Where would I turn to print my contact sheet? This program was just what I needed. It has all the options that I wanted including header and footer notes, padding, the ability to adjust the number of rows and columns, borders and shadowing, and so much more. The interface is very easy to use as well. Way to go Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1, way to go!

Cons: The only options I would have liked included are the ability to print directly to the printer, or to save the contact sheets out as a pdf and not as jpegs as the program does.

    Version: Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1

"Awesome program, much better than commercial product.."

by yuppicide on August 29, 2007

Pros: It's fast, it's free, it's easy to use. I've used ACDSystems FotoSlate 4.0 and it's horrible compaired to this program. While it has more feature, it's extremely slow and it rotates pictures when I don't want them to. This program does what I want very effectively.

With Contact Sheets I right click and select Add Files. I have it setup to display the filename without extension with 9 thumbnails per page. I had to print out like 300+ photos. If I had to do this manually in a graphic program it would take forever. If I had to use ACD's FotoSlate it would take 15-20 minutes longer because the program is so slow once it gets a bunch of pictures imported and then I'd have to rotate a bunch of them. Everytime you rotate it refreshes every picture on the screen which is again slow.

Another thing that is nice about this program is the border feature. It makes all the borders of even side (a square) whereas Fotoslate puts a border around the actual image, so every image is different size.

Cons: When you create your contact sheets you save them as a file and then print them out. I would like the option to print directly. I don't need to save them as files. I delete them right after.

Another feature that would be nice is the ability to have sheets setup differently. Not just say 3 x 3 or 5 x 5.. how about 1 large on top, 3 small on bottom? You get the idea. Like if someone were making a photo album or scrap book type layout if they wanted. For instance I could have a large picture of one of our dresses on the left if I wanted, then on the right side show 4 smaller pictures of the other colors we offer it in.

    Version: Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1

    "Very useful tool..a must have!"

by Mr Eman on August 26, 2007

Pros: This program does a great job doing what it claims to do...easily printing out contact sheets. You can adjust the size of the thumbnail prints, print them in landscape or portrait layout, and you can save your contact sheet for future printing without even having to open the program again...just print it as if it were a single picture. It also is very small in size, and easy on your CPU usage (almost zero). This is perfect for anyone who has ever struggled (like me) with the Windows printing wizard to print out contact sheets successfully.

Cons: Like the previous reviewer stated, it is a little confusing, but only at first. There are no help files or any type of instructions. You must rely on pure instinct. After looking at the empty window where I wanted to load my pictures, and not having a "browse" button or a "File" tab to click on, it occurred to me that it must be "drag and drop". No big deal. Also, I had to print out a couple of contact sheets before I had it set properly to match my printer orientation regarding landscape or portrait mode. Again...no big deal.

    I'll be keeping this one!

    Version: Contact Sheets 1.7.0.1

"It does what it's supposed to do contact sheets"

by Lienart Xavier on April 11, 2007

Pros: It's perfect to print contact sheets. I use a lot of other products with official licences (Adobe, Photoimpact, ACD,...) Printing contact sheets is always difficult. This program does it, no nice layout but hats not asked and this is free. I had to print contact sheets for more than 1500 pictures at once. It toke me less than 1 hour.

Cons: Not really user friendle. But is this important for contacyt sheets.
