Although it exhibits only a fraction of what you'll need to thoroughly clean your hard drive, this program successfully eliminates duplicate files. CloneSweeper's interface is boring, although it adds some vibrancy by color-coding the duplicates found after its rapid search. Without drag-and-drop expediency, choosing a drive or folder is accomplished using the less convenient browse-and-click method. The coolest thing about locating duplicates with CloneSweeper is you're not limited to searching one area. It easily tracks down duplicates in different folders using a comparison search feature and by using additional parameters such as file name, size, and type. Even files with different names or extensions, yet identical parameters are sifted out, however image and video clip parameter searches aren't available in the trial. Determining which file to delete from the search results is simple as the program automatically tags the oldest file for deletion. It's disappointing that secured deletion of files isn't offered. We also would have liked some other system cleaning features such as a Registry cleaner or a sweep of invalid keys and broken shortcuts to completely clean erroneous files. Though it's a great program for dumping spares, you'll need another application for thorough cleanup.
