Like other programs of its ilk, Clean Ram attempts to boost system performance by reclaiming memory that's no longer in use. This supposedly speeds up everything from launching programs to saving documents to performing complex tasks such as 3D rendering. However, as any knowledgable authority will tell you, Windows 2000 and XP clean up memory pretty well already. We certainly saw no benefit from using Clean Ram. Performance slowed down a bit during the cleaning process but rose to its usual level afterward. The only positive was that we didn't encounter stability problems, even when we tried to free all the memory we had. A weaker machine with an older, less efficient operating system might have shown marked improvement, but probably not. We'd file this one under Harmless at Best.Publisher's description

Version: Clean Ram 1.1
Pros: I downloaded this program in the hopes of squeezing just a bit more speed out of my system. My OS is Windows XP Home with service pack 2.
Cons: After installing Clean Ram 1.10, I immediately received errors on my desktop! They were critical stop errors saying something to the effect of: "floating decimal divided by zero". These errors were continuously popping up and, the only way to stop them was to uninstall Clean Ram and do a reboot.

"The software doesn't function. "Floating point division by 0""
Cons: I work on Windows XP SP2 O.S. I installed the program, and I ran it. A pop-up message appeared over and over again all over my screen: "Floating point division by 0 !". I closed it with Task Manager (cleanram.exe process).

Version: Clean Ram 1.1
Pros: Good for Ram below 1GB
Cons: With 1GB of RAM or above it shows an infinite loop error message, so doesn't work if you have 1GB or more of RAM

Version: Clean Ram 1.1
"It cleans up your Ram, but it doesnt do anything more."
Pros: This little program does what it's supposed to.It cleans up your Ram, but doesn't need much space on your harddisk.
Also it's very easy to use. Just a click on a button cleans up your memory. It actually has a better interface than RamBooster's and it's more stable.
Cons: It doesn't have a systemtray next to your computer-clock. You can't configure anything, except the amount of ram to clean up and "autorun at startup". It's very, maybe too similar to RamBooster.
