From Chikka :Chikka Messenger is the first two-way PC-to-mobile instant messaging client. Use Chikka to send free texts directly to mobile phones around the world. Chikka Messenger supports up to 320-character SMS. Seamless connectivity lets you chat with them as easily as you would an IM buddy. Chikka also connects to Google Talk. Add your Google Talk contacts to your buddy list and chat away, even if you're offline. Chatting shouldn't chain you to your desktop. Chikka forwards messages to your mobile phone when you leave your PC. Chikka is more than just text. Send your photos and images to your buddies, online or on mobile (for selected carriers only). Keep tab of your buddies, even if you're mobile. You may choose to get alerts on your phone when they go online.

"Not as simple as main stream IMs but it works just fine"
Pros: Free txt messages for Philippine cell phone users. It supports all Philippine SIM cards.
Globe users can receive up to 10 messages for free without interuption.
Can send pics, to/from IMs or cell
Best known communication for Filipinos abroad!Cons: Smart users are limited to 3 messages received per 90 mins. Unless the receiver replies back with a message.
A bit tricky at first but it gets easy to use.Summary: For Filipinos abroad, it is the best and least expensive way to communicate with love ones back home. It is very inexpensive and sometimes free (the program is free itself) but that the message always gets to the receipient.

Version: Chikka Txt Messenger 4.03
Pros: Sends SMS messages without any lag. Able to receive SMS on your PC. Very light on the system resources. Free daily SMS which is more than other free services out there. It's FREE!
Cons: Program is ugly and server occasionally disconnects. Just a small and limited amount of free daily SMS (20-30 per network). No new version yet. SMS doesn't get through on some networks.
Summary: It's the best FREE SMS Service I could find. You can send SMS through chikka.com, and you could always download the desktop version if you don't want to open your browser.

"A ploy to get your personal information"
Pros: None to think of since it doesn't work!
Cons: This program will want everything from your telephone number and email to your name and birthdate. Not to mention, it doesn't work! You will also get tons of spam on your phone and email.
