CNET Editors' review
CheckUp is an easy-to-use multipurpose maintenance utility that can help you monitor and improve your Mac's performance. Its very visual interface uses colorful and dynamic icons, graphs, and dials to display performance and data over eight different categories: Profile (including uptime and a bandwidth tally), System (especially great for seeing which OS your Mac can handle), Processors (twin dials for dual processors, plus a temperature monitor), Memory (configuration, usage, and testing), Disks (all partitions, with an option for repairing permissions), Network (showing input and output in a customizable graph), Processes (a prettier, more flexible version of OS X's built-in Activity Monitor), and Documents (in which you can view docs by type, as well as search for and delete duplicates).
Much of this functionality can be found in the Mac OS, as well as in various other third-party apps, but CheckUp does an excellent job of combining and presenting all of it in a way that's easy, accessible, and safe, especially for novice users, with nice touches like an uninstaller. CheckUp even displays details on how to fix issues found on your Mac at launch.
Recent updates have improved CheckUp's ability to detect common issues and added support for the newest Macs and Mac OS. Unfortunately, CheckUp does not offer a fully functional trial, so it's difficult to evaluate many of its features, including the ability to optimize processor performance, uninstall apps, or run a full RAM test. Overall, though, its easy-to-use features and visually appealing layout make this an attractive option for a Mac maintenance utility.

"I liked this program and it's ease of use"
Version: CheckUp 2.7.1
Pros
It was very simple and easy to use but unfortunately the many services that it can provide are disabled in the demo version
Cons
I have found no cons against this program
Summary
I would recommend this program to anyone looking for something like this to help them run their maintenance manually at their will.

"Update is a price?"
Version: CheckUp 2.6.1
Pros
Can't say.
Cons
Keep moving.
Summary
"Update" isn't a price. I can't pay you in updates. It's not any unit of currency. If you're going to sell a product, please have the courtesy to indicate the price. I have to assume that the company's embarrassment to show the price, or the deceit for not displaying a price only means that it's not worth spending money on.

"Won't run with new system update"
Version: CheckUp 2.1.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I rather like this utility. I use it in the trial mode but it does have an easy to read interface. However, when I went from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7, CheckUp 2.1.1 stopped recognizing my iMac. This probably needs to be update for the new system and certainly for Snow Leopard. I would recommend this for 10.5.6 and lower but wait for an upgrade on this software. -

"Nice Application but ..."
Version: CheckUp 2.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Great graphics, useful info, warnings and tests.
Price is stated at $29 On Version Tracker but its actually in Euros thus much more expensive. I could not get a refund of the extra AU$
Clicking on memory test gives an immediate restart without any warning!
Scrolling halfway down the pref panes info causes the application to freeze.
Otherwise I like it. -
"Version 2.0 Performs Well except still can't detect..."
Version: CheckUp 2.0
Summary
...WiFi Networks
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Version 1 had no problem detecting my WiFi networks but Version 2 as well as the previous beta versions of 2, refuse to detect my WiFi networks. Apple's airport status on the menu bar does detect the networks. The developer has been informed of the problem.
Aside from that, the product performs as advertised. -
"Hilld"
Version: CheckUp 1.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Newlly installed version 1.0 crashes about 1 sec after attempting to open.
So did final beta, though I somehow got it to work somehow. No luck this time. And to think I have already bought the damned thing! Of course, as things stand I don't even have the opportunity to put in my license number. -
"Do Not Buy"
Version: CheckUp 1.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I purchased this product, a single license that can be used on two computers, for $49. It installed and runs well on the Mac Pro but it didn't take long before I incurred a kernal panic and the whole system went down.
I installed it on my MacBook and it bounced in the dock for a long time then went into a beacball. I restarted the laptop and tried again - and again - to no avail. The product would not work on the MacBook.
Thus, $50 right down the drain. I recommend other Mac users avoid this product entirely. It is NOT ready for prime time and I blame the developers for failing to ensure this product works with all systems and works without causing kernal panics and taking down your entire system. -
"Read the reviews that forgot to include stars!"
Version: CheckUp 1.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
If you read the reviews from people that forgot to assign stars to this you will see that this deserves a 1 star at the moment and not five stars.
Be careful using any hardware utility... especially when it has just reached version 1.0. -
