This charming 2D platformer employs a simple hero and enemies as basic(and as frustrating) as bouncing white balls to incredible effect--the result is a top-rated action game.
You control a snazzy little girl in a beret and red necktie around the screen by right-clicking an area or using the W, A, S, and D keys. Left clicking draws a chalk line, which is your only weapon, aside from the other elements in the game.
You can only draw one line (or scribble) at a time, and its length is limited by a power meter at the top of the screen. Your enemies are moving objects, ships that shoot bullets, and other nasty obstacles like streams of bouncing balls. Hint: use your line as a shield often.
What makes the game excel is the imagination and commitment to intelligent gameplay involved in creating unique bosses for each level. No enemy can be fought the same way. Be careful: Even when you think a boss is dead, he might have yet one more trick to kill you. Graphics could be tightened, the full-screen mode improved, and ratings system seems a bit harsh, too--this reviewer did no better than a "C" on any level. For sheer creativity, fun, and addictiveness, however, this independent platformer certainly earns its top rating.
Publisher's description
From Joakim Sandberg :Chalk is all about drawing your way to all the glory. Draw lines across shapes to destroy them, turn back bullets at enemies and thwart huge boss enemies by bouncing stuff back in their faces. It's an arcade-game sized outing with the simple approach of a chalkboard. Because, you know, chalkboards are simpler than pen and paper...?

"Worked fine for me, but very fast"
Pros: No problems like others have had. Played just fine. I can see where it can be addictive to some.
Cons: Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to keep up with this game. It gets very fast and there's no way to change the speed. The screen starts scrolling by so fast, it gives you no time whatsoever to move the little girl out of the way before she is pulverized by objects.
If one object smashes into her, it will overlap her and continuously do damage and run her HP down very rapidly until you remember to move her out of the way...and that's if there's even ROOM to move her if the object doesn't fill the entire screen.
I do not recommend this game for anyone who has seizures. Oh and I always play games on the easiest mode the first time to get to know what the game is like, so if it was this hard to keep up on easy, I'd hate to imagine harder modes. Actually, I can't remember now if it even had different modes since I got rid of it.
Oh, one last thing. If you make the game full screen and start the game, then if you hit Esc or whatever to pause the game, the text goes partly off the screen, as if it's off center. You have to put it in window mode and then back to full screen, which can get annoying.

Version: Chalk
Pros: Quick, Easy, Entertaining, Time wasting... Very intuitive. A more in-depth game like this would do great on the Wii.
Cons: A bit repetitive. May not be able to entertain you for more than 20 minutes in an inning.
