CaTrain is a tool for designing, simulating, and controlling modelrailways. The Design mode allows for the drawing of a simplifiedlayout, including devices like turnouts, signals, and level crossing. TheRunning mode permits the checking of the layout by concurrently runningseveral trains on it. The trains that have been installed on therailway are animated on the screen. The trains can either circulateunder manual control or automatically, following user-defineditineraries. In "automatic" mode, CaTrain controls the journey, theschedule and the track contention for every train, while setting theturnouts and the signals as required. When the PC is connected to adedicated Controller, CaTrain can control a real model railway.
