CPU Speed Professional tests your PC's processor and compares its results against other users' CPUs and systems via an online rankings site. This free tool stresses your CPU with a variety of tests designed to reveal strengths and weaknesses, but it doesn't hurt or change anything. It's basically foolproof to use and compatible with both Intel and AMD processors.
This software's user interface resembles a car's analog instrument cluster, with tachometer-style displays for both % CPU and MHz. A menu offered controls for initiating the scan and viewing and sharing the results. We ran the test, which involved four metrics: CPU Ramp, Core, Deep Cycle, and Cool Off. The test concluded quickly and displayed the CPU Speed ranking of our machine's processor. We clicked Submit My Score, and a Web page opened with the latest global CPU benchmarks and world speed rankings displayed. We ran the test again and received a similar score, so we opted not to resubmit it. Clicking CPU Details on the menu displayed accurate data about our processor. The tests revealed it was performing slightly better than the chip maker's published speed.
CPU Speed Professional was a lot of fun to use, both in testing our CPU and comparing the results to other PC users' machines as well as worldwide benchmarks. While the trick wears thin quickly--you can only test your chip's speed so many times--it's well worth doing, and it's free. And you don't have to share your data if you don't want to.

I like the user interface and the ability to go online to view the results of other testers. However, there is one nit-pick that I need mention. On the results panel, when I click "Show CPU Details", the value that gets displayed in the "Published Speed" area changes each time I click! For example, for my AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ processor, the "Published Speed" changes randomly from 4,294,967.2 GHz to 3.0 GHz to 6.0 GHz, each time I click! In all cases, the "Actual Speed" remains consistent at 3.0 GHz

Is a rip off(stolen code) of CPU-Z, but it's bloatware, so much of installer, CPU-Z doesn't need an installer.

Maybe it was this program or whatever cnet has been putting so I don't really recommend this. A quad core i7 with ATI 6770 and 6GB memory. So was fast and then installed the program and slowed down the computer. So there's something wrong with the program I had to restore the computer to an earlier time loosing programs that are only able to install the day they are given out.

Running 12 GB ddr3 ram, this shows only 4 GB .

All details are wrong. It says the original speed of this CPU is 3600GHz. It's advertised at 3400GHz. as is on the box it came in.

Utterly worthless. Don't waste your time with this unless you like a good laugh. It didn't even ID my Windows 7 SP1. Said it was Vista.

Just Google GPU-Z for the correct readings and info. program.
The initials "POS" seem to be made for this loser of a program.
