"Very useful"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
None at the moment
-
"Does not work well on Firefox. Needs refinement ."
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
Finds updates.
Cons
Keeps listing updates when updates have been downloaded for days. Doesn't discriminate between downloaded files and downloads found for updating very well.
Summary
Right now I would suggest users to manually search for updates. TT is just too primitive now for consistent use.

"Does not let you know is update is new or not"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
Simple and easy to use. Mistake free for the novice user. Keep up the good work.
Cons
Updater does not let you know if it is a new update like it did before
Summary
I do use it and it works very well, but need to know if the update is new or not.
-
"Didn't work very well on firefox 3.0. Even after force install."
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Cons
It nags in lower left corner instead of skipping all the updates I already have.
-
"Lossing it's credibility"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Cons
Your habit of forcing a list of software that was recently downloaded onto the list is massively irritating.
Summary
null
Plus their new page of Watched Software no longer identifies what software is New, what you have installed, basically it tells you what they are watching but not any of the information you need to know.

OK, I'll stop beating around the bush; this stuff is just pure junk, has no value and should be pulled from their Website as it is an amazing embarrassment, what must CNET be thinking? -
"keeps me up to date on all my downloaded files and programs"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
-
"Good idea, but..."
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
I like the idea and it works for let's say 70% correct. The other 30% is for applications where the owner did not submit the new version to download.com.
Cons
I don't expect download.com to check all programs everyday, but maybe there could be some field in the user rating form where the user can state there's a new version. Also I would like to be able to see what programs have an auto-update function in it. (and so automatically not mentioned in the "new updates" list because of this). Thanks.

"Faulty"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
Good idea
Cons
Software reports that I have new updates available, but in fact I am running the latest versions. How is this? Almost impossible to work out how to "Add a program" to the watchlist. For those that don't have the patience to waddle through the FAQ, you can only add a program at the time that you download it from Download.com - if you can find the button?!

"I am complaining about the download.com official web site!"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
I like how you can download things from download.com. I downloaded South Park Mario 2 and enjoyed the game. I wanted to be able to play South Park Who Killed Kenny Game?.
Cons
It sucks, that I cannot download South Park Who Killed Kenny, and I could not play the game at all. I wanted to give South Park Who Killed Kenny a rating of 1 out of 5, because I could not download the game at all or play it. The official download.com web site is too slick, to not allow me to rate the South Park Who Killed Kenny Game. I was going to rate the South Park Mario 2 game, and I accidently pressed enter, and I could not leave a comment for South Park Mario 2. I was going to rate both South Park Mario 2 and South Park Who Killed Kenny Game on the South Park Mario 2 download site, because your website was to slick to not allow me to rate South Park Who Killed Kenney Game. The policy told me that I had to be 13 years of age or older to submit personal information to South Park Who Killed Kenny Game? I am way older than 13 years of age. I am like 33 years old, like 20 more years of age. It sucks when you cannot leave a rating or comment for something, on some of these downloads.

"A one-line wonder letting you know of updates to programs you choose"
Version: CNET Download.com Update Watcher 1.01
Pros
Works great
Cons
It doesn't go look for updates to older programs loaded before you used update watcher
