Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, from various Windows system areas, and from some third-party applications.
CCleaner doesn't support the large number of extraneous programs that some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. CCleaner now offers secure file erasing along with a Registry-cleaning utility that quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. I noticed My Documents were being deleted, so adjusted the checked boxes to not clean.
Many users of this product are not technically knowledgable home users so maybe more explanation as to what is being cleaned.Summary

Easy to use, fast, full functioning - not a partial with a "pay to get more" come-on
Cons
It cleans TOO deeply, causing the loss of preference files for Web sites and a few other items. I'm learning I'll have to get more specific about what to clean and what not to clean.

One thing I like with CCleaner. It doesn't bombard your PC with all bells and whistles with each update. It adds stuff to filter through the new Web Browsers and Applications out there. Cleans them without hurting the program(s) themself.
Cons
Sometimes you have to read into what may be deleted and/or cleaned, but just takes a little edumacation on your part. Still not losing anything. I may have had to Re-submit passwords here and there, but now I know. More than worth it.
Summary
It's great. Faster speed, efficient, a little lighter in the startup. What else do you want ... and it's free. I love it. One of my favorite programs. Note to Developers: Don't stop what you are doing, keep up the good work.
In the time I have used this product. Going on about the second year now. I have had no visits or had to wipe my computer clean and reformat, which I did 3 times previous and had this unit for only a year and half to that point. This program has definately, unquestionably, helped in the process. No doubt. This is a keeper for anyone that likes there system to be faster, cleaner, and error free. My only other recommendation to any other product is SUPERAnti-Spyware, which is a little different animal than this. But what a awesome peice of software.
