From CCleaner:CCleaner is a system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It's fast (normally taking less that a second to run). It cleans: Internet Explorer (Temporary files, URL history, cookies, Autocomplete form history, index.dat); Firefox (Temporary files, URL history, cookies, download history); Windows (Recycle Bin, Recent Documents, Temporary files and Log files); Registry cleaner (Advanced features to remove unused and old entries, including File Extensions, ActiveX Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help Files, Application Paths, Icons, Invalid Shortcuts. So comes with a comprehensive backup feature.) Third-party applications (Removes temp files and recent file lists (MRUs) from many apps including Opera, Media Player, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, MS Office, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip).
Version 1.39.502 includes rewritten secure-deletion code, performance improvements, new AntiVir PE Classic cleaning, and other features and fixes.

Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer and Mozilla, various Windows system areas, and some third-party applications.
CCleaner doesn't support a large number of extraneous programs as some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. Also missing is a secure file shredder, but it makes up for the omission by supplying a Registry-cleaning utility, which quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before removal, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component, and the download includes a feature for uninstalling any program on your machine.
Since this free application handles the majority of PC-cleaning chores and offers a nice extra, we have no problem recommending CCleaner to all users, except those who need to get rid of supersensitive data.

Pros: Ccleaner is a free diagnostic tool for windows.It has clean interface.Fast scanning of windows and you can choose where to clean and how to clean.It found about 120 corrupt files in my pc.Removal is effective and my pc faster too.There is a built in registry scanner, which identifies possible problems in the registry and fixes them.Rather than going to add/remove you choose which programs to remove and Ccleaner will thoroughly remove it.Ccleaner sure beats all the paid registry cleaner on the market.
Cons: Take care when using the registry scanner in Ccleaner.

"useful but spot the other software it trickily wants to give you!!"
Pros: removes rubbish browsers leave behind for free
Cons: first off as you install it craftily wants to give you yahoo toolbar also..download.com really must chance to blatently point out whenever software makers try to add other software to your download..even if yahootoolbars safe ( ive never used it so diont know), i was teaching my father how to get software for the first time from download it took over 1 hour to explain each install screen to him ( he had never installed software before) then i spot yahoo toolbars ticked to download..this is simply not on unless download points out in a big warning sign that this has nothing to do with ccleaner or the product your trying to get and is something else packaged with the program you want..download fix this for all software listings. as for ccleaner it needs to explian what the files its going to delete did and why its safe to remove them, eg it lists applications you have like googleearth and can remove files this leaves but doesnt explain what they did so you worry ccleaner may remove stuff you need.. more work needed..and make it simple for even elderly people with no pc skills to understand then youll have a winning product

Pros: It cleaned up what I thought was clean. Had not long emptied everything and defragged. Well I nearly died!! 50meg of rubbish was still there.. not for long. I couldn't email my friends quick enough to tell them all to download it. I really hope they took notice. Best part is it is FREE.
Cons: I can't find any. No problems to download and install. Runs like a dream.

Pros: CCleaner is a very useful application which can remove unneeded files from your hard drives and old entries from windows registry. This software knows a wide range of popular programms and this circumstance makes cleaning effective. Also CCleaner is a cookie-manager and an unistaller. And all this functions you can get fo free!
Cons: In my opinion, registry scanning isn't deep enough so you can't use CCleaner instead of powerful registry cleaners.

Pros: wow what can i say...but ccleaner is a great program....it cleaned my hole computer...out and now it runs even faster..the best part of all is that it is free...and u can choose what u want to clean.... try it...
