Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer and Mozilla, various Windows system areas, and some third-party applications.
CCleaner doesn't support a large number of extraneous programs as some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. Also missing is a secure file shredder, but it makes up for the omission by supplying a Registry-cleaning utility, which quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before removal, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component, and the download includes a feature for uninstalling any program on your machine.
Since this free application handles the majority of PC-cleaning chores and offers a nice extra, we have no problem recommending CCleaner to all users, except those who need to get rid of supersensitive data.

Pros: After a while, if you uninstall your programs , it leaves stuff behind. The registry cleaner is the best and you do get rid of more files that are stored other than the registry with the cleaner tab. Its interface is cleaner but, the thing is that download.com needs to change the image because it looks alot better now. Actually, my computer is super fast thanks to this program. It might sometimes erase programs by accident but it is very rare. Also, it has zero spyware, viruses, and ads. This program is a program that has made my computer last for a long time. I haven't re-installed Windows since December of last year. It has made my friend's computers shut down easier. Thank you CCleaner!
Cons: I really don't see any. It might have a few bugs but I haven't really seen that many and its very rare to me. Also, alot of people don't know about this and this should be inlcuded with every computer no matter what.

"Very good piece of privacy erasing too."
Pros: Although it does not support plugins like other ones do, but it does a very good job at what it's capable of erasing. Without plugins, it also supports many other programs like as Firefox, Opera, Adobe Acrobat, Office 2003 ETC. The only thing is that this program does not include a shredder which allows permanent file removal. One of the best tools built into the program is the registry scan which scans for registry issues or programs and allows you to fix those problems. It is also capable of removing entries from the Uninstall list and the Startup list. So if you're looking for a simple and free one, this is the one.
Cons: it doesn't support plugin, needs a file shredder

Pros: I have been using this program for a while and have had absolutely no problems. It does what it says it will do and it doesn't mess up your system doing it. You can even tell it what cookies to save so you are not logging back in to your favorite sites every time you run it. Regular updates are nice too!! You won't go wrong with this one. Give it a try... it's FREE!

"The best reg cleaner I've seen yet"
Pros: It cleans all history,registry,and anything else.Also of importance it will back up the registry if you wan't in case you delete something you later wan't back,but in my experience it has only deleted the bad stuff.Best of all it free!No spyware,ads or malware.
Cons: Can't think of any.Keep improving lol.

"CCleaner ~ Cleans what it says & Cleans it right!"
Pros: Fantastic ~cleans what it says & cleans it right ~a definate keeper ~no more restores or lost files after trying a cleaner ~I've been using CCleaner for six months now without a hitch on XP ~used every option for cleaning Windows & apps; resolving registry & file integrity issues; uninstalled programs; pared down startup programs; & kept track of cookies ~all with shining success ~without the loss of one needed or wanted file ~my PC & programs have run fine ~Highly reccommended whether used to keep cookie & temp files cleaned out or for more indepth cleaning like Windows old logs & prefetch files ~for a little or a lot it's definately worth having ~my daughters PC was so bloated with junk that even after cleaning all malware it took nearly 5 mins to open a window ~installed CCleaner & ran every cleaning option ~blindly accepted & deleted all files in analysis without back-up (over 2.5 GIGABYTES) ~restarted her PC & it ran without hesitation ~2 months later she reports PC running fine & all programs intact ~CCleaner now auto cleans her PC at startup ~used it on 2 other PCs with less problems & same great results!
Cons: For Maximum benefits a basic understanding of what, where & how these files got there is helpful ~with a minimal investment of time even a novice can greatly increase both benefits & confidence using CCleaner click on Online Help ~use Quick Tour for a step-by-step how to use the program & a general overview of the problem ~FAQ & Program Information for an even better understanding ~Discussion Forum to fill any gaps or help with any problems ~my daughter was computer illiterate ~I gave up explaining why cleaning her PC was important & left her at CCleaners Online Help site with a promise she'd spend 15 mins checking it out ~a while later she called ~excited she spent quite a while telling me how it all works & how easy it is to understand & how CCleaner just rounds up & hauls off all the trash :)
