Run this everyday to get rid of temp internet files you never know you had. Also, delete parts of the registry safely. The program also offers a backup in case you accidentally delete files that you need. Overall, this should be one of the programs you have in your computer for everyday use.

I use this program regularly for 6 mos with no complaints. "Almost" makes my Webroot Window Washer obsolete but not completely. I no longer use a paid for cleaner upper though as I find this freeware quite satisfactory. In one word this program "rocks"!
Cons
It could have a more "polished" interface but in terms of function nothing.

CCleaner cleans the registry and other unneeded files; I use it on my WinXP Dell. It is fail safe, if you take your time, and use care. It prompts you to back up, and explains what each item is that you clean from the registry. If you have never used a registry cleaner, this is guaranteed to remove a ton of junk. The first time will take a little patience; but, it works. And, the price is right.
You might set a restore point before using CCleaner; be sure to back up the registry items cleaned. If in doubt, don't clean it out.

fast scans for rubbish files, mru entries and even the registry.
Cons
registry scanning not very impressive, but that is not what the program is mainly for. it's mainly for detecting rubbish files and mru entries to delete.

Once the scan stops, it doesn't allow to delete the specifics file you don't want but the whole bunch. My advice... read the files before you delete anything. If you don't know what they are... DON'T TOUCH 'EM

"A must have!!! Decreased my startup to 30 seconds."

Cleans up lots of uneeded files. The first time I ran it I got rid of 478MB worth of crap that IE, Firefox, Windows and my Java enviroment no longer needed. It also decreased my startup time to 30 seconds flat where before it would take almost two minutes!!!
Cons
Know what you're deleting before you delete it. As with any powerful tool there are risks if you don't know what you're doing. Other than that, Great App!

Anything that clears the nasty Microsoft can't-be-deleted-stores-every-website-you've-ever-visited index.dat file has to be a good thing. I like how it deletes log files too.
Cons
Does it really clear the index.dat file ? How can you be sure ? Seems the file is the same size before and after program is run. Anybody know 4 sure ?

"Careful when using this"

Cons
I had to restore my computer and lost everything after I ran CCleaner. My computer would not start after I ran it. I am sure I did not have a virus I use Norton and Microsoft Beta, and also run Ad-Aware and Search and Destroy weekly. I also keep Windows and all other programs up-to date.
