"Very complete news app with video and twitter included."
Version: CBS News for iPhone 1.0
Pros
All the breaking news that everyone covers. video from 60 minutes. great weather component. Also includes local content from the cbs stations from a lot of big metro areas.
Cons
Would love even more full length video
Summary
It is a great news app for your iPhone (there is blackberry edition as well). If you use twitter, it is the best integration I have seen yet.

"This App is One of the Better Available"
Version: CBS News for iPhone 1.0
Pros
I admit to product bias: The CBS News iPhone app is one of the products I manage for CBS Mobile. But as a newsie and consumer it is really a great experience. UI is first rate, and it runs well on Edge, 3G and WiFi. Video is good, with full shows.
Cons
With the above bias noted: The social networking is not robust yet (wait a month though); App really needs push notification (that's coming too); full length shows should be easier to find (we are working on that as well).
Summary
As a journalist and news consumer the most important thing any news product can do is tell me what is going on now. Make it easy to get in, get the info I need--and then let me decide how much deeper I want to go.
This app does just that--and has the deeper hooks that tie Twitter, video and the depth of news all together. There are a lot of news apps for the iPhone. And some of them are very good. But with the bias noted, this one really delivers utility for use throughout the day--and also some great entertainment (check out the 9 year old hockey kid).
I'd be very interested-give the app a chance and let me know what you think. Always happy to hear more.
