Version: CATraxx 6.21
"Highly recommended for those who collect music."
Pros: I've been collecting records for 20+ years (35,000+ LPs/CDs/45s) and have gone through 3 programs before Catraxx. My biggest PRO is that it is based on a "standard" database, MS Access. Other software that I've demo'd use proprietary databases. I ALWAYS have access to my data even if the developer "closes shop". Very stable. Developer support is excellent. The user forums are active, helpful, and fun.
Cons: The large number of features/functionality was overwhelming at first. But after using it for three years the power of this software is paying off!!

"Still the Best out there, very professional + stable program."
Pros: IMHO the best Pro is that there are really no Cons. CATraxx is a wonderful program,it is a real plasure to play with it while listening to music, I can't live without it. A must have for all serious music collectors: you're dreaming about the perfect tool to manage your collection? Well, CATraxx is there when you open your eyes :-)
Very professional developent + Support, very low priced, a real time saver + a real bargain.
Cons: I cannot mention anything...Many far less powerful programs are harder to learn.

"The definitive cataloguing tool for CDs & MP3s"
Pros: CATraxx comes from an established supplier with an excellent history of development and support (I'd used a competitor's package earlier, and support and new releases dried up within a year). It has tremendous scope for customisation - not just visually, but also of how the information itself is handled and linked. It's not based on a propietary database - it uses the MS Access engine. The developer isn't someone who just understands software writing, but understands the likely problems and requirements of the users - the features are all there for a reason, and just about every need has been thought of. CATraxx is one of a family of similar cataloguing products focussed on books, videos and DVDs etc. There is also an excellent, friendly and very active user support forum for this product - you can pick the brains of the real experts and get their advice.
Cons: Unless you are clear what you want to catalogue and how you want to tackle it, CATraxx can seem a little daunting at first. As noted in the PRO's section, I tried a competitor's product first. I had narrowed down my choice from many that I evaluated to either CATraxx or the other, and initially decided my simple needs didn't justify all the CATraxx features. When I gave up on 'the other', I returned to CATraxx and was amazed how much more I now appreciated the details and thought that have gone in to it. I've stayed with it ever since.

"Comprehensive, well planned, flexible and relatively easy to learn."
Pros: For the average music lover, this program will make it simple to catalog and organize your collection, no matter what the media. It is flexible enough to provide in-depth information for the more serious collector. It comes with an excellent tutorial, and the site forum has almost instantaneous response to problems from users all over the world. The author is very pro-active in the forums and regularly releases updates to correct issues that surface.
Cons: The learning curve is a little steep at first due to the comprehensive nature of the software, but after a short while use becomes very intuitive.
