Publisher's Description
From DaanSystems:
Buzz-o-sonic 3.0 is an audio spectrum analyzer with a frequency range of 10 Hz- 20 kHz. The speed of the PowerPC processor is utilized to calculate the frequency components of sounds (audio spectra), using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm. Buzz-o-sonic 3.0 runs on standard Power Macintosh computers with audio input, and does not require additional hardware. Specifically, all that is required is a Macintosh Computer with a PowerPC CPU or better (G3, G4), a PlainTalk microphone (or equivalent directional microphone with a 0.01 - 20 kHz bandwidth), 4 MB of free RAM (8 MB or better preferred), 5 MB of disk space and System 7.x, 8.x, or 9.x. Future versions will run under Mac OS X.
What's new in this version:
- The Waveform (formerly Sound Input) graph and Spectrum (formerly Frequency Spectrum) graph can now be interchanged. So, sounds can now be displayed in two Spectrum graphs of two Waveform graphs. For example, a second spectrum graph can be used to show zoomed-in areas, and to display the effects of applying window functions, and changing resolutions etc.. Of course, as in previous versions, the sound can still be displayed in one Waveform graph and one Spectrum graph.
