From University of Southern Denmark:BlueJ is an integrated Java development environment developed specifically for introductory programming learning and teaching. It is ideal for small-scale development. BlueJ offers a very easy-to-use and highly interactive interface that allows the interactive creation and invocation of objects.
Version 2.1.2 adds J2SE 5.0 support, new diagram look and handling functions, improves extension API, and fixes bugs.

"Good product quite useful May have beenbetter"
Pros: One can work without a main method in a class on this environment
Cons: Does not recognize method or files at times. It also may changes variables to ones devised by it.

Pros: Follows the rules - fun to use.
Cons: None really, if you don't expect it to help you create the next big thing. Much easier to learn programming JAVA than Eclipse - a great platform for developers, not for students.
Summary: Downloaded it since my kid is taking a programming class in college & the early assignments are in JAVA on BLUEJ. :o)

"CoolNile seems a bit confused . . ."
Pros: Wonderful tool for visualizing classes and their relations to one another in a project.
BlueJ makes OOP much less painful by generated boilerplate code for you.
The IDE features a very comprehensible debugger.Cons: None really, aside from said boilerplate code getting in the way from time to time.
Summary: @CoolNile:
a) BlueJ is not a Java-like language. It's an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) built for the Java platform. You write real Java code while using it.

Cons: Nothing so far .. But this program MUST contain a compiler .. we wanna have EXE programs buddy .. Good Job
