Bayden IE Toys adds more power and flexibility to Internet Explorer with 13 browser tools. The program weighs in at a tiny 175kb, and even with all of the options installed it didn't slow down IE in the slightest.

When you run the EXE, you get to choose which functions you want to add. Expanding functionality in some areas and creating it in others, IE Toys works mostly through right-click access to the Context menu. Broadband Tweak, for example, simply increases the maximum simultaneous downloads from the same server to 16. The Google and MSN functions search those engines using highlighted text. Another great tool, HTML Accessibility Helper, automatically searches Web pages for hidden hot keys and tells you what they are. Linkify converts plain text into hyperlinks, useful for malformed URLs. Highlighter highlights selected text in yellow.

There's also ClearTracks to wipe your browsing tracks, Proxy Toggle, ImageList, Encyclopedia and Dictionary tools, and HTML source. Unfortunately, this last option was the only one we tested that was wonky. It wasn't available, and thus wouldn't show the source code, for several different sections of different pages we looked at including images and other non-text-only code. Still, IE Toys is a robust, lightweight tool that adds a lot of useful functionality to IE.

  "Nice add-on for IE"

  Pros: It took about 11 seconds to download this add-on, and ready to use immediately.

  I like the feature that allows you to right click and highlight a word within any

  article, and decifer it's extended meaning. Using Wikipedia and the Encyclopedia function from a drop down menu selection sure saves time from having to open up a new window manually. I'm impressed! Now I'm gonna go see what else it can do. Thanks C/Net!
