From BD-Soft :This program intended to measurement maximum palm battery uptime in different conditions and to store and compare taken benchmarks. It can be used to track battery parameters degrade in time. Attention! This program load Palm CPU and peripheral hard and work till first warning about battery discharge. In case weak battery this can lead (but not always) to all data in RAM lost (except device models with NVRAM, Tungsten E2 for example). So before use this program it''s better to synchronize your Palm or make full backup on card with thrid party utility. In main form you can see list of all benchmarks, if tap on this list you will see more detailed info about every benchmark. With button New you can start new benchmark. In benchmark form you can choose required loads: communication port (letter C in benchmark list Loads column), main processor (P), memory card with write file system access (F), screen (S). There are only most common loads, that present on most Palm handhelds. You can also edit description of other test conditions (for ex. - screen brightness, state of Bluetooth and WiFi interfaces, if present). For old models with AAA battery you can choose correct type of power elements used - NiMh accumulators or Alkaline batteries, for example. For new devices you can''t change this setting Tapping on Start will begin benchmark. Benchmark stop on first warning about battery discharge (in this case program will store result and exit to prevent deep battery discharge and data lost) or on Stop button tapping (so you can stop benchmark to make urgent data lookup on Palm - benchmark results will be stored and you can then resume benchmark again from point, where you stopped it). On all benchmark time all hard buttons, include power button, will be blocked and auto off feature will be disabled too (on stop benchmark all settings are restored). For more reliability benchmarks results saved on memory card (if present) every minute in directory /PALM/Programs/BattLife/. On program startup it will look this directory for stored results, so you will see actual data even in case full battery discharge and hard reset (it''s recommended to put program on memory card too). Attention! On Palm Tungsten T3 there is a bug in serial port hardware that will lead to malfunction this (and many other) program. You can use program SerialFix to prevent this or don''t use RS232 as load in this case.
