From Foryoursoft :BatchRename is for you to rename files in same or different path with all kinds of rules you defined as many as you like. FileList: Add any file in any path in your computer to the FileList, use filter to select the exact files you want, and you can also pick up the files by hand. RuleList: By select or typing in the combo box you can make up a rename rule, then add it to the RuleList one by one, finally apply them all together to rename. Version 2.75 picture conversion support. By adding picture rules, you can easily convert the pictures to most popular format (bmp, jpeg, gif, tif, png) while you renaming them and destination output directory support. You can select a different output dir to store the renamed files.

"Very effective, but takes a bit of trial and error"
Pros: This program renames files using a number of different criteria and can replace character strings in repetitive file names. Works fast and is effective.
Cons: It's not super intutive. It took me several tries to learn how to get the files renamed the way I want them.
