Version: BadCopy Pro 3.8 build 1108
Pros: This is the best recovery software i have seen. others dont even come close.
Cons: It is very slow, takes hours to rescue a CD. it is very rough on the CD-ROM. Once while recovering a CD with bad copy, my CD-RW got damaged. Use this if your data is more important than your drive.

Version: BadCopy Pro 3.8 build 1108
Pros: Tried it on CD and DVD and ... had to find other software (which I found and which I love as it works great ... however not this software I'm afraid).

Version: BadCopy Pro 3.8 build 1108
Pros: I made a mess of adding new digital photographs to a DVD and rendered the disc unreadable. I was almost crying... Around 4 months worth of photography, gone... I decided to try BadCopy Pro.
The free version only serves to tell you whether the files you wish to recover can be found. Indeed, it did find my photographs, and also allowed me to see a preview of them.
I then paid around £30 for the full version and yes, it did work. All my photographs were rescued from the disc. I am happy to have paid the fee, knowing that if anything like that happens again, I am armed.
The programme is very small, downloads in seconds and does its work in a few minutes. Wonderful. There doesn't seem to be a restriction on the size of files to be recovered either.

Version: BadCopy Pro 3.8 build 1108
Pros: I was working on a college paper that I had open on my flash-drive when I lost the document. I could find no trace of the document, and I had not saved it on my hard-drive. I thought I was probably throwing $40 away on this data recovery program but to my total amazement, it was recoverd, fully intact! I whole heartedly recommend this program. It saved me having to re-do (from scratch) 4-hrs worth of work.

"Not this time - but maybe next time it will be what I need"
Pros: Kudos for the evaluation version - you know exactly what you're going to get, and if the software can do what you want it to.
Cons: It wouldn't recover my 9 year old floppy, but then neither would anything else I tried - it really *is* dead. That happens sometimes. :(
