From Creative Engineering :This is a simple utility that will toggle the backlight of a Compaq iPaq on or off. There is no user interface, it just does its job and exits. I have assigned it to the record button on my iPAQ, so that I can easily toggle the backlight off and on whenever I wish.Just copy the file to the Program Files directory using Active Sync and tap it to switch off and on. To assign a button to it, put a shortcut to the Backlight.exe file in the \Windows\Start Menu. Then you can use the Buttons setting to assign the program to any of the Compaq's buttons.This does the same type of function as holding in the Power Button, but it can be assigned to any key or run by a pen tap. It also will restore to the last set brightness level and will not affect the Automatic setting.I have also posted another utility called BackStep that will step between OFF-Low-Hi-Low-OFF each time it is run.
