Starting from the Internet Explorer engine, Avant Browser adds useful capabilities, such as grouped favorites, an RSS reader, and tabbed browsing. The first thing we noticed upon launch was the aesthetically pleasing skin that came as the default with Avant Browser, but you can choose from among many preloaded skins in the Tools menu. The tabbed-browsing feature lets you quickly switch among Web sites, rather than having to shuffle through several browser instances in the Windows taskbar. If you visit several Favorites often, you can save them as a group and open the whole group with one click. When you shut down the program, Avant Browser remembers which windows were open and launches them the next time it starts up. You also can automatically refresh all windows, or only the current one, at regular intervals. A simple pop-up blocker works in most cases, but it was powerless against some floating banners and other, more obscure pop-up methods. Overall, we found Avant Browser a great alternative to Internet Explorer, with useful features that make browsing even more efficient. Watch the CNET video review of Avant Browser:
Publisher's description
From Avant Force :Avant Browser allows users to browse multiple Web sites simultaneously and to block all unwanted pop-up pages and Flash ads automatically. The integrated cleaner helps users clear all traces and maintain privacy. The built-in Yahoo and Google search engines enable users to search for Web pages, images, groups, directories, lyrics, software, and news on the Internet. Avant Browser provides options for blocking the download of Flash media, pictures, video, sounds, and ActiveX components, so users can efficiently use their bandwidth and speed up page loading. All opened pages can be stopped, refreshed, closed, or arranged with one click. It also comes with built-in RSS reader. Its similar Web sites bar displays Web sites, which are related to the opened Web pages.

Version: Avant Browser 11.5 build 8
Pros: The new design of the user interface is very good, and things like the URL Alias, online storage, still making it the best alternative, the engine, triden, presto, gecko whatever with broadband speed is almost the same, but Trident is the one that has the best integration with all websites, and most important, you´re not using IE
Cons: none

Version: Avant Browser 11.5 build 8
Pros: It was different. I had less problems at the websites I visted because it was a less attacked browser. It was cleaner than explorer; less cluter.
Cons: It locked on PDF files and, lately, it's home site kept locking a window on my computer when I tried to download the latest version. It's just not worth it anymore.

Version: Avant Browser 11.5 build 8
"Excellent, fast, secure browser"
Pros: The Avant website calls it "the fastest browser on earth" and I wouldn't argue. The light, quick, responsive feel is what Firefox always set out to achieve, but version by version has lost touch with. Very nice set of features, even better in this latest version, including many that can only be added to Firefox as extensions, slowing it still further. As Avant uses the same MS Trident rendering engine as IE, many web pages that look odd in other browsers display perfectly in Avant.
Cons: The (very good) search box is a little inflexible - you can set your own engines, but only one each for web, images, groups, etc. There is a good, completely customisable quick-search, though, where you assign a key letter to each engine you wish to use to search from the address bar; this works well, even if you do have to remember your key letters yourself.

Version: Avant Browser 11.5 build 8
Pros: I like this bowser over any other that I have tried and I have tried a lot of them. I keep coming back to it. I very much like the gradual zoom that they have brought back rather than the step zoom that was in the last edition.
