Version: Autodesk Maya Personal Learning Edition 8.5
Pros: I have heard the software is fantastic but, alas I can not use it. This is a great free fine to those who qualify.
Cons: When you get to the web site and fill out the form you are then sent to a page with your key number. Then you read the requirements for the program towork...XP Professional, three button mouse and the list goes on. I only have XP Home.

Pros: its free and at first it will look very complicated (or at least for me it did) but their are lots of tutorials and video tutorials inside maya to make it a piece of cake.
Cons: takes a long time to load up

Pros: Its been stopped , started using Blender to learn as a hobby, don't expect I'll ever Need Maya. Unless you're a professional animator ... Blender ought to float your boat !
Cons: Student edition (Maya) would leave 2 ton watermarks, Maya , Autodesk, these folks are really proud of their products ( $ 3K_usd for WHAT !?! , rather donate 3K to blender.org , but that's just me)

"Personal Learning Edition Is no longer available."
Pros: You can only download the 30 day trial.
Cons: I have previously downloaded and installed this software. However they are no longer making this version available.
Summary: 30 days is better than nothing. But for those that don't have the time to get good in month it might be a waste of time to download and install.
