Thanks to this free program's simple approach to backing up files, novice users will find it to be an exceptional tool for protecting their files.
Once activated, AutoVer can be accessed from a taskbar icon. Its user interface has very straightforward commands for adding and deleting files you want to watch and backup when needed. Adding new files was as easy as creating and naming a new file, adding the folder you want to backup, and then choosing the backup location. Our selected folder was immediately created and saved to our location of choice. More advanced settings let you choose specific files you want to include and exclude from the backup process, as well as adding a time stamp. You can also pause and resume the backup of specific folders using the command button, and the search feature lets you explore folders that you have backed up.
AutoVer includes a Help menu, but because the program is so easy to use, we doubt you'll need it. Novices will especially appreciate this simple backup program, but we recommend it for any user that doesn't want to mess with too many configurations to back up their files.
Publisher's description
From Bean :AutoVer is a configurable, automatic or real time backup and personal versioning system. It can be used as a simple real time backup or as a more complex version control system. The beauty of this system is that once you set it up (which is extremely simple) it does everything. No remembering to backup or to check in or check out files. Every time you save a file it is copied to your backup folder or drive.
You can include and exclude certain files and browse the backups with the Backup Explorer. Great for backing up (or one way syncronising) your work or home documents to flash memory or saving every change you make to your source code or image files.

"Great Design But Wouldn't Work"
Pros: Design was just what I was looking for.
Cons: Wouldn't work. Watched folders that were to be backed up disappeared every time the program was shut down and reopened.
Summary: When I listed the folders to be backed up it worked great and backed up everything perfectly but when I shutdown my computer for the day then reopened it the next day, all my folders would disappear from the backup list. I redid them several times b... read more >>
