From Panic :The Audion MP3, CD, and Net Stream player is already famous for such innovations as alpha-channeled interfaces, a net stream guide, and hierarchical playlists. With Audion 2.0, every aspect has been carefully rethought, retooled, and improved. Audion 2.0 is the result of the developer listening to user requests and making those improvements and new features, many of which aren't available anywhere else, or on any other platform. It features a clean interface (see see screen shot), a powerful playlist, a built-in streaming audio directory, full drag-and-drop capabilities, support for CDDB queries, EQ, and more.
Some other new Audion 2.0 features include:
- DJ style crossfading: mix music tracks from any source, in real time
- Linked Playlists: Playlists that automatically update as the Finder updates
- MP3 Editor: A handy waveform editor that can cut, copy, and paste sections of MP3s
- Popularity ratings: Rate songs and sort playlists based on your tastes
- Album cover support: View album cover art while navigating a playlist
- Face hue shifting: Hundreds of color variations available for each face
- Multiple control windows: Open many players for maximum flexibility
- Console window: A single, clean interface for managing plug-ins
- Play counter: Keep track of how many times songs have been played.
Last, but not least, Panic has finally included full encoding capabilities! Now you can create MP3s using your favorite CD tracks.
note: This demo version is a 15-day trial. After 15 days of usage, Audion will limit your sessions to 30 minutes each. The registration fee for Audion is $19.95 for the player, and $32.95 for the player and encoder.
