From Audiograbber :Audiograbber allows you to copy music from a CD-ROM drive digitally rather than using the analog method that first pipes the audio through the sound card. This digital recording process enables you to make high-quality copies of the original music. Audiograbber can be configured to test the quality of its recording. In addition, Audiograbber can automatically normalize the music, delete silence from the start and/or end of tracks, encode straight to MP3 format via internal MP3 or WMA (MS Audio 4.0) codecs, or send an extracted WAV file to an external MP3 encoder. Audiograbber also supports the downloading of CD track listings via CDDB. <p>The latest version adds CD-TEXT support, internal WMA8 support, and support for Algorithmix's noise reduction plug-in (for recording from LPs). <p><b>Note:</b> In order to extract audio directly to MP3 or WMA format without an intermediate WAV file, your CD-ROM drive must support digital audio extraction. Some older CD-ROM drives don't support this technology. With older drives, you may need to extract to WAV format via the analog method. The unregistered version can rip only half of the tracks on a disc randomly.Developer Changes:Audiograbber copies music from cd's or external sources such as radios, cassettes or turntables. The music is saved on your harddisk as wav, MP3, WMA or OGG files. Audiograbber has all the common features for cd-ripper programs like normalizing, encoding of external files, track names download/upload to freedb, ID3 tags, CD-TEXT support etc.The line in sampling function can automatically split recordings from LP's into separate tracks and it can use a noise reduction plugin from Algorithmix. It can also time schedule recordings if you for example want to record a radio show when you are not home.The latest version adds a function to better deal with copy protected cd's. New is also built in OGG support and it can now rip Karaoke (CDG) discs.
